I'm already fairly certain I'm going to grill some burgers and dogs. I might also put something in the smoker. Maybe some ribs. Or I can do like my dad used to - he'd grill some hot and mild Italian sausage and slice it up into toothpickable appetizers.

Scarab Sages

I'm so proud of myself. Making so many Will saves these days!

Scarab Sages

Woot!! Another Will save!

Scarab Sages

Busy morning. Many headaches.

Scarab Sages

Failed a Will save. But, it's been an annoying day, so I'll cut myself some slack. This time.....

Scarab Sages

Definitely a beer (or three) night.

Scarab Sages

Good beer and good reading. I missed nights like this.

Scarab Sages

Baby girl woke me up at 0430 today. Not sure why she was crying. Might have been the wet diaper. Maybe a nightmare. After changing her, I tried to bring her into our bed to see if she'd go back to sleep a bit longer.

She was having none of that.

Scarab Sages

And then there were annoying people on the road.

Scarab Sages

Normally, I try to avoid even a roundabout mention of politics, since this is a gaming site, but this is kind of cool...

A friend from high school posted some links on Facebook from his work with the Heritage Foundation. He's an expert on financial regulations, and was part of a panel discussion on certain aspects of Dodd-Frank. As part of the discussion, he got to introduce Senator Richard Shelby, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs.

A second link he posted is so anyone who wanted to could watch his forthcoming 5 minutes of speaking in front of the House Committee on Financial Services.

Scarab Sages

Damn! You know the spammers are just f#$+ing with you when they add start new threads in the Website Feedback section. That takes balls.

Scarab Sages

There is much to do today. And even more to do tomorrow.

Scarab Sages

Some dudes really need to learn to use tampons.

Scarab Sages

"Just tell them to remove their heads from their asses, redline f*!~ing drawings, and move the f$*! forward."

Scarab Sages

Oh, I can see the s#%* storm a-coming. Monday is going to be.....fun.

Scarab Sages

'Fun' as in it'll be a damned miracle if I don't lose my s$## and throw my coffee mug at someone's head.

Scarab Sages

Ye gods! Glad I left when I did.

Scarab Sages

Nice lunch today with the wife, for her birthday.

Scarab Sages

And I hit the comic book store to get new books, as well as try to find some back issues I have come to realize I did not own. So I ended up spending a little over $100 for a good chunk of the Legends of the Dark Knight I was missing. Now I only have around 13 issues of that series to collect.

Scarab Sages

And I read today that Marvel has scored Neil Gaiman to finish the work he did on Miracleman all those many years ago. Could be interesting.

wasn't a fan of miracleman.

Scarab Sages

I've never read anything with the character. But I'm a fan of Gaiman....

Scarab Sages

Gonna be a busy day. The boy has his swimming lessons this morning. Then we're having guest over for my wife's one-day-later birthday celebration: my brother and his family, and the wife's good friend and her family. There shall be grilled burgers, hotdogs, and corn, among other things. Afterwards....SPLASHPAD!

Scarab Sages

I was awoken in a most pleasant manner. Baby girl came barging in, wielding a book. I pulled her into bed with me, where she demanded I read the book. Afterward, she demanded "down", followed by patting me on the arm and saying "up". That was my cue to get my lazy ass out of bed.

Scarab Sages

A fun day. Some Grilling. Much devouring of things which were grilled. Playing around at the splash pad. Even some animated Green Lantern.

Scarab Sages

Screams break the silence
Waking from the dead of night
Vengence is boiling
He's returned to kill the light
Then when he's found who he's looking for
Listen in awe and you'll hear him

Bark at the moon
Ha ha ha ha ha...

Years spent in torment
Buried in a nameless grave
Now he has risen
Miracles would have to save
Those that the beast is looking for
Listen in awe and you'll hear him

Bark at the moon
Hey yeah, bark at the moon

They cursed and buried him along with shame
And thought his timeless soul had gone, gone
In empty burning hell - unholy one
But he's returned to prove them wrong (so wrong)
Ooh, yeah baby

Howling in shadows
Living in a lunar spell
He finds his heaven
Spewing from the mouth of hell
Those that the beast is looking for
Listen in awe and you'll hear him

Bark at the moon
Hey yeah, bark at the moon
Hey yeah, bark at the moon
Oh Oh yeah, bark at the moon

Scarab Sages

Sunday - but it shall not be a lazy one. There are....things....to do.

Scarab Sages

Baby girl grabbed a hamburger yesterday evening and started gnawing on it. I was so proud.....

Scarab Sages

Monday morning! We meet again, my old frenemy! What lunacy/wonders do you have in store for me today?

Scarab Sages

I shall drink more coffee!

Scarab Sages

And now......frivolities!

hi AZ and Patrick

hope you are well

a few days off from wedensday to look foreward to (if we stay healty, wife has a throuth infection)

thursday we want to take a riverboat trip through the middle Rhein valley, Germanys most beautiful river and one of it's top 5 tourist spot, I never have been there even though it is only a hour away

the middle Rhein valley has the highest density of castles in germany (maybe in the world)

there may be pics

wedensday we want to visit the farm of a distant relative so the Dwarfling can watch cows and chickens and pigs

I vistied my dad with boy today, it was great watching the two playing and he helped pick up the too-early-fallen-apples under the trees for compostation (is that a corrext english word?)
I hope they can enjoy each other for many years, my dad is 78 already

Scarab Sages

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Howdy, aeglos. Glad to hear all is going well for you. Go conquer a castle, then invite us all to help man the defenses.

I envy you a bit. Yesterday would have been my parent's 52 anniversary. We all called my mom to make sure she was doing well.

Scarab Sages

And, on an equally sucktastic note - a read on Facebook today the wife of one of my Fraternity brothers (who was also one of my little brothers in the chapter, and something of a protégé), passed away yesterday.

Sometimes, life just blows big, hairy goat balls.

Scarab Sages

Meh.

Dark Archive

I just got caught up been a while since I joined in. Still flabbergasted about the whole making BBQ a crime in Austin. That never tried to pass that sort of ordinance in the city of Newton MA were they tried to ban leaf blowers.

BBQed some chicken thighs last night. I love me some chicken thighs.

Saw an article on Facebook giving a Top 50 list of craft breweries. I'm fairly certain none of the top ten were anywhere near New York, which is as it should be.

Scarab Sages

Debating taking off a bit early today. I have a sufficiently plausible reason. Just a matter of implementing it.

Scarab Sages

Basically, I find myself really not wanting to be in the office.

Scarab Sages

Meh!

Scarab Sages

Well, I've been kicked out of might near every bar around
I've been locked up for drivin' a hundred and twenty through town
Well, I've been shot at and cut with a knife
For messing around with another mans wife
But other than that we ain't nothing, just good ol' boys

I threw my boss out a window and got fired from my last job
Hot-wired a city truck and turned it over in the Mayor's yard
Well I beat my brother-in-law half to death
I lost twenty bucks on his football bet
But other than that we ain't nothing, just good ol' boys

Good ol' boys, we're all the same
Ain't no way we'll ever change
Mean no harm by the things we do
Or the trouble that we get into
Other than a wild hair once in a while
We can't help it, it's just our style
And good ol' boys is all we'll ever be

I got an alimony payment that's six weeks overdue
I got caught with a trunk full of bootleg out-a-state booze
I hocked my wife's diamond ring last June
Bought me an outboard Evinrude
But other than that we ain't nothin', just good ol' boys

Good ol' boys, we're all the same
Ain't no way we'll ever change
Mean no harm by the things we do
Or the trouble that we get into
Other than a wild hair once in a while
We can't help it, it's just our style
Good ol' boys is all we'll ever be
Good ol' boys is all we'll ever be

Scarab Sages

Well s@%% in a bag and punch it.

no, we are in the teens there. The hipsters in hipster hell/Williamsburg are doing what they can, but they aren't there yet.

Scarab Sages

Major screw up here at work on my part (and the part of others). Nothing I can do now, except apologize for my screw up and try to fix things as quickly as possible.

Which is more than I can say for the client - those a$@&@+$s never apologize for, or even admit, their own screw ups.
