Milani & The River Kingdoms

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Hello everyone,

I'm looking through the Guide to the River Kingdoms and there are locations present in the book that show as active to followers of Milani. Those locations are Artune and Liberthane. Both locations show followers of lawful classes (monks in Artune, paladin in Liberthane). I'm assuming these were written before Milani's CG alignment was fully established, so I'm wondering what I can change the classes to that would still be appropriate to the setting while still following Milani's printed alignment.

I'm wondering if Brawler instead of monks and a warpriest instead of a paladin, though I'm curious as the community's thoughts. One of my players has his origins in Liberthane and I'd like the change to mesh appropriately.

Thanks for your time!

Maybe they're just an alignment minority? The majority population is probably chaotic, and so is the government. But the monastery is an oasis of lawfulness, and that paladin is lawful too.

I think one problem of Lawful and Chaotic is that when they are based solely on current government vs revolutionary changes, what happens when the revolution wins? They take over the government and they establish their new and now lawful regime.

Do they become a Lawful society now? When it's something like Galt and the revolution never ends, a Chaotic alignment fits perfectly. But when you think of something like Revolutionary America, where they rebelled (signs of chaotic alignment) and then formed their own government that found stability over many years (more lawful), things get iffy.

Anywho, more on-topic with Milani, keep in mind that only Player Characters must be within one alignment step of their deity in Golarion. I think even a Paladin could see Milani as doing good and fighting against an evil regime in the River Kingdoms. He might not be as quick to oppose 'tyranny' as other followers of Milani, but if the government is shown to be corrupt and evil he may step forward.

Just my two cents.
