My brother and I had our mice hovering over the button waiting for it to enable when the counter reached zero. He clicked about a second after I did.

I entered the queue at position #607.

He entered the queue well past #2,500.

5/5 *****

I thought you needed to refresh before hitting the button and the wasted second left me at 1600 in the queue. My friend who hit it asap got 800.

Grand Lodge 2/5 RPG Superstar 2012 Top 32

Ouch. Hope you still got your tickets.

3/5

I was away from home, an Ipad wifi. Clicked ASAP and ended up #3756. Got the tree I wanted though.

Update:

Thursday Special: 171 tickets left
Friday Special: 15 tickets left
Bonekeep: 429 tickets left (players are afraid their PCs are going to die)

5/5 *****

Yep, I managed to get pretty much everything I wanted. Missed out on Lords of Waterdeep which I have wanted to try out for a while.

Silver Crusade 5/5

As of about 3 PM CDT there were 11 tickets left for Legacy of the Stonelords, and about 150 tickets left for The Paths We Choose.

So planning on going to Gencon this year (never gone before). Do you have to preorder the tickets to games, or can you just walk in and find a game? I understand if there's something you really want to play in, get the tickets beforehand, but are there tables that you can just sit down at and play?

5/5 *****

You can buy generic tickets and hope to find a spot but I would strongly recommend buying tickets for specific events instead. There is also a games on demand area where you can find pick up games.

Ticket sales fluctuate. People place tickets in their cart then don't buy them.

Currently (7:52 pm) there is one (1) ticket for the Friday special.

Upon re-reading this, I realized it could be read as sarcastic since I wasn't clear that the spot was gone because I took it. I did. A very sincere thanks!

Welp, looks like I won't be doing PFS at Gencon this year.

Only got one game, on Sunday morning.

Ah well, plenty of fun stuff to do. I signed up for Cthulu Live instead of the Friday night special. Those events are always crazy fun.

Myself and two of my friends were hovering over our tablets waiting for the button to go black. I hit the button about three times before it registered, but was still ahead of both of my friends. I was at 2600 where they were about a 1000 and 2000 higher than me.

But between us, there was only one event we did not get, “Where Mammoths Dare Not Tread”. I know there are other slots, but we’re happy with our other selections in those slots. And all three of us got into both specials and the exclusive (Bonekeep).

A good day for us!

You should definitely try to get into a slot of Mammoths. I'm GMing it. And I promise to kill your character...er, NOT kill your character.

IIRC, there were only 12 tickets at each slot, so I imagine they went pretty fast. Luckily I got one, because my future Mammoth Rider needs to do some scouting for a mount there.

Sczarni

I have GMed "where the mammoths dare not tread" at a local con and it has the potential to be really fun for players, and GMs. It is on my list of encounters I would be willing to GM a 2nd time for only table credit.

I haven't played this one yet, though I ran it in January for a "slot 0" for Con of the North. Was an interesting scenario

Won’t let me purchase tickets for the slot I chose, as it says it conflicts with tickets I already purchased for that time.

I’ve heard people indicate they purchase back-up tickets, how do you do so?

I’m willing to return my tickets for that slot, but not sure how to do so. Under my Transaction page it says “Return Tickets”, but afraid to hit that as I’m not sure if will return all of them.

5/5 *****

You can pirchase multiple tickets at the same time. Also you no longer need to use the wishlist system, just hit add to cart and it should let you add them.

I would make sure to return any clashing tickets you dont want though to give other people a chance.

No, it won’t let me purchase tickets for another slot I already have. It tells me, in red, “Event RPG….. conflicts with Event…..for <name>”.

Edit: Nevermind. One of my friends was able to sign us up for Thursday at 1 p.m.

Hope to see you then, Seth. :)

Judging by your post Swiftbrook, I'll start prepping Destiny of the Sands Pt 1 as my backup as not that many people seem to want to play Traitor's Lodge.

Grand Lodge 5/5 *

Traitor's lodge is awesome though! I've run it several times, and played it once... it's a hoot! Especially if your GM has run a certain Season 4 adventure... really especially when he has a table chock full of players (and their specific characters) they played under said GM in that unnamed scenario....

cackle....

I think you might be jumping the gun just a little. The stats represent the first 6 hours of ticket sales. There are 85 days before the convention begins. That's plenty of time for more tickets to be sold. Remember stats are just that, stats. A snapshot of a moment in time. Now I am 100% confident that the Friday night special will have a packed house. At this point I only have a hint of what other adventures might look like, and I'm not making any alternative plans yet.

Shadow Lodge 4/5 **** Venture-Captain, Michigan—Mt. Pleasant

And I'm running 4 slots of DotS1. I was actually considering bringing my terrain for Traitor's Lodge to run as a back up. :) Though I'll probably bring DotS 2 instead.

If you check back semi regularly, you'll see slots open up again - the closer the con gets, the more people tweak schedules or find out they can't go at all or something else.

Now I need to figure out what my backup scenarios are going to be too, since it seems 5-06 isn't the most popular either, based on the numbers above...

Thanks for adding this thread here - I didn't realize that ticket sales had started.
Signed up myself and my son for the Thursday special and one more game on each day. I'm also GMing one slot Thursday afternoon - with hindsight bad timing - so my son will have his very first game at GenCon on his own - well - he has managed to get through the Eye of the 10 - so should be fine.

Thod - depending on the marshal he gets for his game, he might be able to request a particular GM's table. I can't speak for everyone, of course, but I'd imagine most marshals would accommodate a request like that (so he's playing at your table, or someone else who you know through the boards, etc.).

Thanks for the heads up !! We plan to spend a few days ahead and after the convention and might meet up / introduce ourselves to some GMs. So we might know someone by then and might get this organized.
As backup - I signed him up for a tier 1-5 and will send him with a level 2 (for a tier 1-2). That should place him power wise and experience wise above the average - even if he might look rather young and inexperienced.
Here in the UK he has the advantage that he knows everyone and I feel confident to have him sit on his own with the majority of GMs. So all will be fine :)
It certainly will be an experience he will remember for a long while.

Thod,
No problem - if he ends up playing 5-06, I'd be happy to volunteer as well.

Also, I'm not sure what your travel/timetable is like, but in Bloomington (about 1 hour's drive south of Indy) we have PFS on Monday nights - if you're still in town and want to, I could arrange a ride to-and-from for you two if you're not already tired out from GenCon gaming by then!

Thod! Any chance you'd be up for running a game on Wednesday? You're on my list of "must play with before I die." :)

Liberty's Edge

Hi all - If anyone is needing a slot for the PFS Gen Con Special: Legacy of the Stonelords (Season 5 Conclusion)... I just gave up my slot. Not sure how long it will be there, but hopefully it'll make someone happy. I haven't played any of Season 5, so I am going to skip and play in the Season 6 kick-off instead. I figured I could try out some Shadowrun for Friday night in place of the Season 5 Conclusion. Hope that goes well.

Both sounds great !!

I plan to come over for a total of 2 weeks - so should be some time in the area ahead of the Con and afterwards. Just need to book flights to have the final dates.

The plan is to go to gaming places in the area and do some non RPG related sightseeing.

Kyle - just let me know if I should play or GM and what level. I would prefer if it isn't too late if possible as I'm on my own with my son - so can't leave him easily elsewhere and his gaming performance tends to drop after 10pm and I'm not sure if the different timezone might make it worse. Apart of that I'm absolutely flexible. Give me a time and place and it is a deal.

I don’t have 10 slots of PFS, but all of my games are PFS. 5-6 slots, including both specials and the Bonekeep exclusive.

And most likely will play at least one game on Wednesday as well, if there is a pre-GenCon game day (I assume there will be).

The party's cleric of Urgathoa was utterly thrilled by that optional encounter. It made the game for him, for the whole rest of the scenario.
