I just finished reading a chapter in Words of Radiance with Kaladin and Wit where I was just so inspired to create Wit, the bard. (not named Wit, of course) I am gonna go with Court Bard, of course. I just need more race/feat/weapon help. Not help, but rather, inspiration. Let me know your thoughts!

Well, I've only read the first book...but straight up Court Bard with a sword seems the way to go. Either Longsword or Rapier and either using Weapon Finesse or not at your option (though personally, I'd go Weapon Finesse with a rapier and get an Agile one later). Probably pretty Charisma heavy and using spells to mess with people, too.
Versatile Performances would be in Oratory and Comedy (which go well together mechanically, as well as being accurate to the character, given Oratory covers storytelling). This might cause some issues with the Diplomacy bonus the Court Bard gets, but I'd allow that to be used when using Oratory for Diplomacy...and I suppose you could even skip the Oratory for something else if you like.
You can also fairly easily do this as a standard Bard (which is probably superior mechanically), with his cutting words at the enemy inspiring his allies as opposed to penalizing his enemies (the protagonists certainly seem inspired by him...)
