Im looking for ways to enhance my natural attacks on my Drunken Beast Totem Barbarian/Alchemist. Which would be a better option: (1) Deliquescent gloves cost 8,000; or (2) base Amulet of mighty fist without an +1 on it will costs 4,000 (16,000 with +1).
Benefits of gloves: protection from oozes acid attack and they will not split when I attack. Keeps cost of amulet down and I would like to get the +3 version of amulet so I can get over DR.
Negatives of gloves: I have claw/claw/bite/gore when raging and under mutagen effects so will probably only boost claws (Herolab has it applying the 1d6 to all natural attacks...not sure which one is right?). It occupies my glove slot so I cant get something else. Initially more expensive than base amulet.
Thoughts on which one is the better choice?
The amulet is obviously cheaper in the short run, but the main attraction to the gloves is that you can wear them with an amulet, so the 8k for Corrosive will be cheaper than the next upgrade on the amulet.
Go with the Amulet for now, and choose a different energy type or flat bonuses.
Thanks for advice. The other thing I didn't add was that this is for PFS so I cant buy gloves just now anyways due to Fame restrictions. Guess its +1 amulet. I have about 1.2k left over. Only other magic item I have right now is a +1 cloak of resist. Suggestions on how to spend last 1.2k (or should I bank it)?
This is a bit delayed, but I just played my character today. I ended up taking +1 mithral breastplate for 5200 gold. Ended up being a very wise decision as I was constantly getting attacked with 20ish numbers but with shield extract and this armor, I pumped up AC to 23 even while raging.
The next item I plan on getting is furious amulet of mighty fists. This effectively gives me +2 amulet while I rage for only 4,000 gold. Upgrade this to later to +1 furious amulet of mighty fists for 16,000 gold and I'll effectively be able to get around cold/silver DR while raging. :) That's far cheaper than the +3 amulet.
