So I just got Champions of Balance, and have found myself enamored with the Impossible Bloodline. It seems to grant hitherto 'impossible' abilities with regard to constructs; my question naturally deals with the idealization of constructs, ie Golems.
The Impossible Bloodline power states:
"Constructs are susceptible to your enchantment (compulsion) spells as if they were not mind-affecting. Constructs are treated as living creatures for the purposes of determining which spells affect them."
But here's the rub: Golem writ large are immune to magic, and don't care one bit if the spells they are immune to are mind affecting or if they are treated as humanoids - they're still immune.
So either I'm missing the benefit of this bloodline power (short of low-level constructs such as animated objects) or it does in fact allow you to hit your Stone Golem minion with Heroism and heal them with Cure Light Wounds?
Could a developer shed some light on this? What was the intent behind this ability, and does it apply one iota to Golems? Thanks!

Well, I'm no Dev, but it seems to me that Golems would still be immune, but there remain a wide variety of Constructs of varying power levels, from Homunculi and Animated Objects to Akaruzug's who are all now susceptible to your enchantments.

Ninja'ed, as I was distracted by work.

I may be way wrong here....but the way I read it a construct is treat as if it is not a construct...but a living creature.
So no immunity to any spell you cast on them that effects living creatures.

Golems have an additional immunity to magic on top of the normal construct immunities. Impossible bloodline still can't touch them, because now they're treated as living creatures... who are immune to all magic.

From the Clay Golem
Immunity to Magic (Ex) A clay golem is immune to any spell or spell-like ability that allows spell resistance. In addition, certain spells and effects function differently against the creature, as noted below.
• A move earth spell drives the golem back 120 feet and deals 3d12 points of damage to it (no save).
• A disintegrate spell slows the golem (as the slow spell) for 1d6 rounds and deals 1d12 points of damage (no save).
• An earthquake spell cast directly at a clay golem stops it from moving on its next turn and deals 5d10 points of damage (no save).
• Any magical attack against a clay golem that deals acid damage heals 1 point of damage for every 3 points of damage it would otherwise deal. If the amount of healing would cause the golem to exceed its full normal hit points, it gains any excess as temporary hit points. A clay golem gets no saving throw against magical attacks that deal acid damage.
So from this and the Impossible Bloodline, you need enchantment (compulsion) spells that do NOT allow SR.
Symbol of Sleep, Symbol of Stunning, Symbol of Insanity from the core book should all work since they don't allow SR.
There are probably other spells in the other books, but you are definitely looking at a very limited selection.

Well that just took the whole thing to being so situational as to be almost useless :(
Again: Golems are not the only constructs, only the most iconic. In my last post, I linked to the d20PFSRD's list of all construct type monsters--any one of those not named 'Golem' would be susceptible to the Impossible Sorcerer's enchantments.

Golems are only immune to spells that allow Spell Resistance. There are a number of them that do now, which affect golems normally. So any mind-affecting spells that do not allow for Spell Resistance can now affect golems as if they didn't have that property.
And as others have said, Golems are not the only constructs.

Another question...
Do we think this was intentional:
Serpentine has an IMPORTANT phrase that is MISSING from the Impossible Bloodline:
Bloodline Arcana: Your powers of compulsion can affect even bestial creatures. Whenever you cast a mind-affecting or language-dependent spell, it affects animals, magical beasts, and monstrous humanoids !!!********as if they were humanoids who understood your language.*******!!!
I wish Impossible had this phrasing as well... would open up a lot more fun with charm person :)
