So my group has kind of been crumbling as of late and as I am the staunchest player (And the GM is my roommate) we have decided to try out a solo campaign. The GM wants to take this campaign to a rather insane place and hopes to have me soloing some of the hardest encounters out there.
To that end he is allowing me to create not only a gestalt, but a mythic gestalt. What are some recommended combinations for this scenario?

You'll want at least one side full BAB for Mythic Vital Strike unless you want to go with something that gets pounce. I'd say Paladin for the saves, self heal, and Smite... hmmm. Most people would say go 9th level caster for the second half, but what about Synthesist? Two of the most survivable classes around with great offense? I like it.
You can literally turn into the holy spirit and smite things.

I will First Be like most people and say Cleric/Wizard with mythic matches. Full T1 classes and every spell you can imagine.
Paladin/Cha Caster is strong with lots of Benefits so it should be mentioned because of how ridiculously strong it is.
My pick tho would be a Magus/Witch Combo. Hexes are bad ass and mix that with Full casting, Combat abilities, Good amount of Skills, Best spells in the game. I would make sure I prioritize my spell casting abilities and Initiative above all else and set down the Battle Field so I can win with relative ease. So I would stack Dex and Int and be a Dervish dancer Type so My ac is good as well as my Defensive spells/hexes. It also lets you get a lot more bang for Archmage. Also remember to Improve your familiar and pimp him out with some wands. Enervation is great in the hands of a good improved familiar. Since they share your skills it will have UMD.

A bit unorthodox, but I've been kicking around a build for a game just like this. Urban/Invulnerable Barbarian and Musket master Gunslinger. Champion Mythic, being sure to pick up the 5x all ranges and the one that let's you spend a mythic point for rage. Come And Get Me rage power+ Snap shot feat line+amped up Dex from an urban ragers Controlled Rage and mythic ability ups+ gunslinger Dex to damage= good times. I believe there's a mythic whatchacallit for unlimited attacks of opperrtunity in a round too. A also, for giggles I'd stick in the rage power AND feat that give back rage on a kill. That way, every time you kill something, you get refunded for rage for the round, gain another round on top of that, and get a grit point.
Invulnerable thrown in for the DR, which should come in handy for soloing.

Lots of cool options. Personally, I'd be very tempted to go for a ranger / wizard, specifically a guide ranger (for the flexible killing) and a void wizard (for the amazing saves and save-or-sucks that stick. It's not as obviously incredible as some other options, but you get incredible saves, great flexibility in your spells and importantly, at least 8 skill points per level with all important skills on your class list. For a solo campaign, I think people tend to forget how many different skills you need over the course of an adventure, and how many possibilities you miss if you don't have a really solid set of skillpoints.
I'd build primarily for melee through the natural attack style and shapeshifting at low-mid levels (multiple primary attacks + mythic arcane strike is incredible), then add some focus on powerful save or suck spells at higher levels to get the most out of the void wizard abilities, abusing things like dazing ball lightning or spell perfected quickened icy prison.

Why not go cleric wizard, then gestalt mystic theurge with a full bab class? That way you get all the casting, and still some amazing fighting ability.
The other thought is Sorcerer/orcale, Paladin/mystic theurge! All the casting with 9th level casting, tons of utility with 3 classes of spells to deal with and all of it focused on one stat!

I'd probably go Paladin/Bard because it's awesome, flavorful, has stat synergy, and they're two of my favorite classes. I'd throw...I dunno actually, maybe Dual Path it and grab Champion and Trickster stuff.
Now...as for what you should play...mechanically, you're likely best off going with a combination that results in lots of skills, has stat synergy, and gives 9 level spellcasting. Bearing all that in mind, Urban Ranger/Cleric is probably the best option. That gives you full BAB, 6+ skill points per level, an animal companion (assuming you burn a Feat on Boon Companion), 9 level Cleric casting, so healing is casually doable as are both buffing and save-or-die stuff, and Urban Ranger specifically grants Trapfinding, so that takes care of that. Really, you lack Arcane spells...but you can do without those, and you have basically everything else there is for someone to have. Probably go Hierophant, though Champion and Guardian have some solid options as well, and you could Dual Path either with Hierophant if you like.

I think you might want to consider Monk/Druid. Focus on str and wis, all good saves, 9th level casting, pounce/flurry from level 8, you are missing a true full BAB but you get one on full attacks and maneuver checks, a full HD animal companion to help with fights. Probably not as strong as some other combos, but could be fun.

I'm gonna echo Paladin/Synthesist Summoner.
That just sounds busted-good.
Just make sure you get a nice Bordeaux or Chianti to go with that cheese.
;-P
Actually, I'd recommend a Paladin and a standard Summoner, using the eidolon as your mount once he gets to Large size. Follow the Eldritch Heritage feats for the Orcish bloodline and don't forget synergy bonuses like Shield Ally.

If you go mounted, I'd always go for a small race. The strength penalty is more than made up for by the ability to actually use your mount everywhere. A mounted paladin/summoner (or barbarian/summoner?) is a good idea though. The eidolon can cover your lack of skills pretty well through the skilled evolution and the lesser evolution surge spell, and the damage potential of a mounted charger is just through the roof.

I'm liking the idea of a Paladin/Summoner, seems like it would be a lot fun and potentially very versatile. I'm going to ask my GM about how likely I am to be able to stay mounted, I could see a Summoner/Cavalier also working out rather well. I am not to worried about MAD because I will have a high point buy as well. Because of this I could also see a Rogue mixed with a casting class being really versatile.
