Is "Out of subtier gold" only for season 5

Pathfinder Society

This came up recently when I was playing a 1-2 tier with my lvl 3. The disappeared actually. I was told by the local organizer the Out of sub tier is only for season 5. To me that didnt sound right, 500gp sound fine and I didnt want to make a stink and seem like a player that just want more Loot.
but I specifically remember a way to do fiqure out a way to do out of subtier. Add the two closest Together, then divide by two.

Check out Step 5 on page 35 of the guide to organized play.

Out-of-tier gold is calculated for all scenarios, not just Season 5.

Determine the Max Gold for the scenario based on the PC’s advancement rate and the subtier played. Circle the applicable value (F). If the PC’s level is not within the subtier played (such as a 1st-, 2nd-, or 3rd-level character in Subtier 4–5), circle the Out-of-Subtier gold value or calculate the Out- of-Subtier value for Seasons 0–4 by taking the average of both subtiers and rounding down. Write this value beside area F and circle it.

Ahh, Ok, I wanted to know because im playing another OOST tuesday, thanks.

Im getting a major sense of Deja Vu reading this thread like someone asked exactly the same thing recently.

Hotsauceman: What did your gm say? Or are you referring to him when you say 'Even Organiser'?

If you're playing in subtier 3-4 (the other subtiers being 1-2 and 6-7), and you're first-level, does "both" refer to 1-2 and 3-4 or 1-2 and 6-7? The part in the Guide that I was reading said,
page 32 wrote:
Out-of-Subtier gold: The Out-of-Subtier value was introduced in Season 5; therefore, Chronicle sheets from Seasons 0–4 do not include these wealth tables for normal or slow progression. The Out-of-Subtier gold value is the average of the high and low subtiers; for slow progression it is half the normal Out-of-Subtier value, rounded down.

(which might not take into account scenarios with 3+ subtiers?)

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Mike has clarified that you average the tier you played at and the one closest to your level. You cannot average the 1-2 and 6-7 tiers together.

The guy was new at PFS gming, while the Event Orginizer was the local VC, When asked, it was when he was doing the BBEG boss of some module, so I think his mind was somewhere else. He said "I think it is only season 5" but we both forgot when we where talking later.

Its no biggie TBH, I will just show the same GM it this tuesday, its in the guide.

Its a little concerning hotsauce, maybe like you said the VC was having an off day though.

Just have a printed copy of the guide ready to shove under their faces :)
