Hey everyone,
Just wanted some advice. I am starting a PFS character and took the Venom Drenched Trait.
You have nothing to fear from one sort of poison. In fact, you can actually drink the toxic brew in order to make your blood dangerous.
Benefit: You are immune to one specific nonmagical poison. If you ingest a dose of that poison (even if it is a contact, inhaled, or injury poison), it remains in your system for 24 hours; any creature that bites you during that time is subject to the poison’s effects.

Just wanted some help picking my poison. I can pick it for one of two reasons. One) a specific poison constantly crops up in PFS and it would be a good poison to be immune to. Two) When/if I get bit it would be a good poison to subject a creature to. I'd I would like it to be releaively cheap so that if I buy multiples to ingest it won't break the bank. If there is a good poison that can do both 1 & 2 then more power to you.
Otherwise thanks for your help

I don't know about what poisons show up regularly, but I would pick a poison that has a high DC, little to no onset, and a 1/round frequency.
Burnt othur fumes, Dark reaver powder, Deathblade, Large scorpion venom, Nightmare vapor, Purple worm poison, and Wyvern poison all seem to be good choices.
However, you need to keep in mind this note from the additional resources:
Any character with the Poison Use class ability can purchase and use poisons. For now, they are the only classes that have a list of “always available poisons” (those noted below)—no other class may purchase poisons unless they appear on a Chronicle sheet or in another legal source. Alchemists, ninja, and poisoner rogues may only purchase the following poisons: black adder venom, bloodroot, giant wasp poison, greenblood oil, large scorpion venom, malyass root paste, Medium spider venom, nitharit, shadow essence, small centipede poison, terinav root.
Note that the only one of those poisons that made my list was Large Scorpion Venom.

Poison use in PFS is largely a trap. The "good" poisons are pretty much either not available to PFS characters, or expensive.
You'd be better off just using the action to attack instead of applying the poison.
Venom-Drenched is even worse, it requires opponents that bite. Which means it's going to be useless in many fights. And it occupies one of your two limited Trait slots.

Clarification: As clarified by Mike Brock here, the list of always available poisons (to those characters with poison use) from the Core Rulebook includes the following:
— black adder venom,— bloodroot,
— giant wasp poison,
— greenblood oil,
— large scorpion venom,
— malyass root paste,
— Medium spider venom,
— nitharit,
— shadow essence,
— small centipede poison,
— terinav root.
The FAQ is incorrect and has not been updated.
(Basically, all of the poisons listed on Additional Resources for Ultimate Equipment also appear in the Core Rulebook. Mike clarified that either book is a legal source for those poisons.)
