Hi, so our crew has some downtime between chapters with the possibility (I think) to retrain feats if desired. I'm a level 4 cleric of sarenrae whose feats are Summon Good Monster, Scribe Scroll, and Sacred Summons. At level 5 I'll be taking Craft Mag. Arms & Armor.
This post is mostly about scribe scroll-I've used it a bit up to this point and it's been nice, but I'm a bit itchy to get the Spell Focus->Augment->Superior summoning line through and done. So I've been debating whether to scribe some nice situationals (remove sickness/paralysis e.g.) or drop Scribe for Spell Focus. The list that I've drawn up to scribe would also eat up 6-800 of the 1100 gold I have on hand to play with (not party loot). I wouldn't ask the party to contribute to scribing costs, because I don't think the character would and I've picked up more than a fair share of loot drops.
So, keep scribe scroll?
-If yes, what would you scribe (up to this point you've fought goblins, occasional undead, some evil outsiders, and one really mean giant crab)?
-If no, spend or save (current gear includes +1 breastplate, +1 ring of prot occasionally shared with fighter, +1 cloak of resistance, fully charged wand of cure light, and a potion of cure moderate in case of emergency)? The party is a fighter, dawnflower dervish bard, ninja, and wizard. I'm frequently not on the front line, but we have been flanked a couple of times.
Domains are Good and Healing, in case that's relevant. I like them, but wish I could touch of good myself (you have a sick mind).

One way to reduce scroll-scribing costs is to always leave some open spell slots. It takes about 15 minutes to prepare a spell in an empty spell slot. You have access to the entire Cleric spell list.
For example, you think you might occasionally cast Shield Other, Augury, and Lesser Restoration, but you don't normally prepare them. You could scribe each on a scroll, or you could leave an open 2nd level spell slot and prepare whatever you need, when you need it. This does not work for spells that you need right now, but is a great way to get circumstantial spells. This allows you to adjust your prepared spells for the day to suit the occasion.
Umm, perhaps you should also put Lesser Restoration on a scroll, since it's so useful. If you do, though, it's entirely appropriate to charge whomever you cast it on. Even a modest & Good cleric should do this, as it pays for you to make more scrolls. If your allies were wiser they would offer you money to scribe a bunch of scrolls, since theirs is the bacon you will eventually save.
