Special materials cost modifiers

Advice

I was wondering if I make a masterwork crystaline longsword...

Does it cost me 3300 gold ([15x200]+300) or 63300 gold ([15+300]x200)?

Crystaline is not PFS legal and is from a 3rd party source.

This really belongs in the rules section, not the PFS section. However, the special materials cost is applied to the base weapon, so it would be 3,300 gold.

EDIT: it really doesn't belong here as Drake pointed out, it's not a legal choice for PFS.

I need to get around to adding a pic so people notice my short posts better.

It does not belong in the Rules section either as it is not from a Paizo source.

The basics still apply, special materials come before other costs in the calculations. It's the same with silver, for example.

Sorry was just an example. I meant material modifiers in general.

In general it is best to assume modifiers are to the BASE value of the original item, unless specifically noted otherwise.

This applies to pretty much any RPG, really. Otherwise you get weird results based on the order you apply the modifiers.

An example of this is if you calculate the cost of a Gargantuan Breastplate before modifying for Mithril you can then melt down the Mithril Breastplate and sell the Mithril for a profit.
