I thought it was going to be right before the summer of chaos (380s AC)?
Not that I mind either way, but I think it might be interesting to have a game around the time of the last king priest of Istar. (Although it would basically make divine spell casters unplayable)
That was another campaign that kind of fell apart. There are two players from that old game that I have invited to play. I prefer a bigger group since that helps to keep a game going.

That's what I was thinking to, but I'm good with really any era. Originally this character was playing prewar of the Lance, so no magic at all.
Also, it depends on how the game goes. It could be a campaign that concludes before the actual Cataclysm, or even alters it, and divine casters could be fine. It could also be one that plays trough it without divine magic, which could be interesting. And we wouldn't really know what to expect.
I'm interested, but my knowledge of Dragonlance is limited to the first three books. My favorite characters were Sturm and Flint but I could attempt an early Raistlin, too. I know Raistlin went epic afterward, but I never read those series due to a lack of interest.
So if we don't play during the War of the Lance, I wouldn't have a preference for another age.
Do you have a preference for type of character?
Can anyone point me to some Internet sites to create a background?
Darn, it looks like someone else has made a cleric for this game. I'll have to create something else I suppose. I am thinking of playing a Wizard as it does seem no one has made one yet.
No reason we can't have two. I was thinking about going more with a Paladin-lite sort of Cleric, and not so much the spellcasty kind. Wizard could also be cool, though. Don't let me stop you from doing what you want. If you do go Cleric, we could use that to sort of act like each other's foils a bit, RPing the differences in faiths. Could be really interesting in the Kingpriest era when they start persecuting neutral and then even other good faiths.
Here is a short background for Torwalder Hawke. I made it mostly generic as I am not sure where we will be starting play.
Background:
A Ranger from Estwilde, Torwalder was raised in the rugged hills, swamps and forests of this wild land. His parents were 'frontiers-people', a name given to those who hunt the wilds, cut the trees and generally keep out of 'civilized' society. Raised in the wilds, the young boy grew up learning how to survive, hunt and track. The area contained a number of goblin tribes, and Tor became adapt and tracking and killing the vermin.
His parents have long since retired, and his only sibling, a older sister, married and settled down near the town of Ohme. His parents have a fortified steading along the Northern Shore, not far from his sisters place.
Question what is your expectation with Kender? Played like Tas they can get themselves into a lot of trouble. Is that encouraged or is the expectation played down? Kender tend to both consciously and unconsciously take things would that be case in your game.
I want to see if I can perhaps do both. Who is still interested if I do? This one might be slower since there is no material on these time periods in terms of modules so I have to make it up, I have an idea of where I want to go though.
