Feats that Grant Hit Points

Rules Questions

To my knowledge, there are only two feats that give a character hit points: Toughness, and Tribal Scars.

Are there any more? Especially those that would work well for a low level character?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

If you're human, you could take the feat that allows you to gain both an extra hit point and an extra skill rank as your favored class reward similtaneously.

If you have a 13 CHA you could take Eldritch Heritage: Arcane and select a toad familiar. That will give you 3 extra HP.

Not a feat but a trait. Finding Haleen from Legacy of Fire gives you an extra hit point and skill point every level. It's like toughness and a +2 to intelligence all in one (for a trait).

What feat is that? That's better than toughness.

Toughness has the advantage of being frontloaded, and you can take both. The feat is called Fast Learner.

Fast Learner, from the Advanced Race Guide.

Fast Learner isn't better than Toughness; they're apples and oranges. If you normally pick a bonus skill rank every level, it essentially *is* Toughness. If you normally pick a bonus hit point every level, it gives you a bunch of extra skill points too.

Plus Toughness and Fast Learner stack ....

I just discovered this and this is crazy... It's the best trait ever... If you are a human and take toughness you get 2 skill point and 2 HP per level + 1 favoured class... and you could add fast learner too...

Tribal scars is massively front loaded but post level 6 you just get the other bonuses.

Finding Haleen is a 3.5 trait, and in 3.5 I don't believe you got bonuses for leveling in your favored class. It's probably intended to basically be Fast learner.

Yeah, I believe if Finding Haleen would be nerfed a bit if they updated LoF to Pathfinder. Probably to either a skill point or a hit point. I didn't notice how good it was when I started GMing LoF when a player picked it, I didn't believe him. It hasn't caused any problems. It's actually turned out to be kind of a good thing since he is a bard and the only character that has more than 2 skill points per level and a positive intelligence modifier. (Others being a cleric , fighter, and paladin with intelligences of 10, 8, and 11).
