Two Player AP Pathfinder Campaign: Options in 2014?

Advice

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I am getting ready to embark on my second Pathfinder campaign in 2014, Reign of Winter. I only have two players. We are about to begin Chapter Six of Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition. Currently, both players run two characters to have a well-rounded party of four. Its working well but is slow.

However, I would like to hear about other options for our next campaign. Ideally, I'd like each of them to run one character each. I can think of four options:

1. Give them mythic characters
2. Give them gestalt characters
3. Support them with more NPCs
4. Give them some home-brewed power boosts (max HP, double con bonus, etc.

I'd really like to run the campaign exactly as is (lazy). Perhaps it is best to have them run two characters each again.

Thoughts, idea, suggestions?

I would say gestalt and you may have to alter encounters especially once with a lot of enemies. Being gestalt is not equal to having to characters. Generally it make the character one level higher effectively, but I would treat the APL as one less or equal at best to the character's actual levels.

Go Gestalt AND Mythic. If you use point buy you might want to dish out some extra points say 25-30 over the normal 15-20 as well.

You and wraithstrike have some great advice, thanks. I think it may be possible to have them go Gesalt and Mythic. Have you or your players actually done that for a campaign?

Dotting for interest.
