Too many aligned outsiders?

My take: The planes are thought, belief and perspective made flesh. The various planes and their inhabitents are so extreme not because they were raised to believe or act this way but because they were made to act this way.

The Abyss is the sum-total of chaotic evil thought and energy. The Demons that erupt naturally from its landscape are sculpted of evil iteself. They're not mean bastards because they like it, because they were abused as demonbabies or becasue society gave them the shaft. They're chaotic and evil because their very nature, their dna is the definition of evil.

Orcs CAN be evil and likely WILL be evil but those are based on social forces. Their society has evolved to value strength and brutality for any number of reasons. But a Marillith was pulled straight out of the aether as a pure personification of evil.

Same with Angels, Devils, etc. These are all creatures that are born of belief, not shaped by it. So a non-aligned outsider is a contradiction.

Which outsider subtypes do you find to be so similar that they don't warrant both existing?

Barring a few of the subtypes (demons and devils in particular), I think the problem is more that a true identity and niche has not been carved out for each. The less detailed outsider subtypes could definitely benefit from some branding.

Silver Crusade

NEVER ENOUGH OUTSIDERS

I love having the various groups. Kytons scratch an entirely different itch that devils don't, psychopomps and aeons are worlds apart, and azatas fulfill certain roles in ways that angels could do very differently, and I like having those options.

Honestly, I'm open to more. Bring on an alien/bizarre group of celestials! Bring on some modron-alikes! Expand the peri into a family of celestials embodying different forms of penance, guilt, regret, and redemption!

And I am not talking the occasional Special Snowflake. I am talking Subgroups or Factions of that Outsiders Race. Think something like the Calorain(?) Cathedral in the Weeping Empires Setting. It is dedicated to that Settings equivalent of Calistria and its main population are Good & Neutral Aligned Succubi and the occasional Incubus.

Specifically: 2403 Succubi, 36 Incubi, and 1019 Material Plane Humanoids are the constant denizens of the ~200 Square Acre Complex.

Come again?

It is a setting that was available but I don't know if it is still available or not... The Faction was a major group in that Region.
