Eyes of darkness

Rules Questions

I like the eyes of darkness power from the darkness domain despite its short duration, however I want to know what kind of action is it to activate? is it a standard as it is unspecified, or is it free as its not said that it needs activation at all the wording is:

"At 8th level, your vision is not impaired by lighting conditions, even in absolute darkness and magic darkness. You can use this ability for a number of rounds per day equal to 1/2 your cleric level. These rounds do not need to be consecutive."

It doesn't say it requires activation and in a sense implies it doesn't require any it says "your vision is not impaired" and then states the details.

Is there a ruling on this? Given the short duration if it requires activation it's less useful as you lose one precious round activating it.

All domain powers require a standard action to activate unless otherwise noted.

Well poo. Thanks. Does the activation round count as a round of duration? I would guess so.

Yes, it counts toward your daily rounds.

Hmm, really more of an emergency power then.
