Corruption Forge + Demonic implants

Wrath of the Righteous

Okay, corruption forge redeemed, the implants have been made, they're clearly evil objects, they have rules in order to re-craft them. now what do I do.

I'm Gm'ng a game with a Tiefling EMPYREAL KNIGHT(paladin) who wants to make this happen, with the intent to use them himself.

so, I told him I´d let him know at the next session.

Do I disallow this (fail to see a reason to rule wise)?
And do I tinker new "angelic" versions of these items, or can I get away with just purified versions (would make more sense if a tiefling is going to wear them)?

session is next week, so please take your time :)

I'd say there's a difference between an evil weapon/item/whatever and a demonic implant.

A demonic implant is literally part of a demon. You can't redeem a chunk of a demon.

rules say they follow the rules for wondrous items, also, if you can redeem a demon, how can't you redeem a part?

Because a part of a demon isn't intelligent and can't make decisions on it's lifestyle? Which, yes, opens up the idea of 'alignment by how it's used versus it's origin' but still.

Besides, if you're going to redeem a demon, you get to go through all the issues required to do so. Slapping it on the forge shouldn't bypass the redemption process in that case. At least require a planar ally or something as a good conduit.

Yes, you can redeem these implants.

However, because there is no actual celestial body part implant items out there, you'll have to switch them out with semi-viable alternatives that provide the same bonus... but not the body part.

Or in other words, the person is left without said body part. In the case of a demonic heart? The person would likely die afterward. ;)

You mean exactly like the unholy sword you can redeem?

I believe the intent is to have them redeemed before implanting them, but point taken

I don't know, I think its pretty darn epic to have a paladin implanted with demon parts, and through sheer faith and devotion, fight back the snaking tendrils of corruption and redeem them.

Especially if the paladin lost his arm or hand or something to a chainsaw demon, and utilized the appropriate part from his defeated foes. Groovy. ^_^

You mean Soulshear? There's a whole demon inside of there and I'd say that redeeming that weapon first kills the demon in it before providing a good intelligence that isn't a new bound outsider, but still has Summon Monster as an ability.

The corruption forge, once redeemed, isn't intended to be able to redeem demonic implants. But if you want it to... I'd say that redemption should happen BEFORE the implants are put in.
