Buying a wand is far more efficient than expending a feat.

Buying the wand and having the feat means you have another skill to use in place of UMD because you can use the wand without a check, and it's a good feat anyway, hardly a waste.

There are better uses of one's feats than this, and one can pick up the Dangerously Curious trait to make Use Magic Device a class trait, which is far more flexible than making four spells part of your paladin's spell list, as Sir Thugsalot has kindly pointed out.

I agree with Thuggy. Dangerously Curious is a much better selection than it appears to be. I also like the humor synergy on my tiefling paladin when her traits are Dangerously Curious and Suicidal.

My current Pally build won't have the skill points for UMD or the Int to get Unsanctioned Knowledge.

I like the selections, but I just don't see being able to get them unless a bunch of ability points and/or free feats are doled out in the campaign.

Even then I think I might be better off going in different directions and letting the Bard handle all the wands I can't use, but can still reap the bennies by her using it.
