Frightened:
Frightened
A frightened creature flees from the source of its fear as best it can. If unable to flee, it may fight. A frightened creature takes a –2 penalty on all attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks. A frightened creature can use special abilities, including spells, to flee; indeed, the creature must use such means if they are the only way to escape.

Frightened is like shaken, except that the creature must flee if possible. Panicked is a more extreme state of fear.

Some extra stuff to keep games flowing:

Since we are sort of pressed for time in these specials, in case of an extended period of absence, I would like your permission to bot the character, or delegate this to one of the other players in the thread (in case of interest - I wouldn’t simply say “X bots Y” and carry on). With the following in mind, would you agree to being botted?

Me (or the players botting you) would try to not use any consumables in your inventory, or abilities or class features with limited use (x/day stuff such as spells, channel energy, stunning fist, inspiration, and so on) until deemed necessary to ensure the survival of one or more characters in the party.

Botting posts would be as sterile as possible, to not put words into your character’s mouth. We do this because we try to not post something the character would never say due to their convictions, life philosophy, or whatever other reasons they might have. It’s always better if you (as the ‘owner’ of the character) come in later, and fill the blanks if needed.

If you agree to the above, please set up a bot me section in the character profile containing your most common rolls and listing any feats that might alter said rolls.

Additionally, please make sure to put relevant information (initiative, perception, saves, other common rolls, etc) about your character into a spoiler included in all your posts. I made some adjustments to my spell list for this scenario.

1) Since this seems like a primarily social scenario, I would normally memorize charm person. Cypher, given your amazing skill set, should I go a different route?

2) Tenibri's spellbook is pretty bare at this point. I'd been running him pretty much like a sorcerer with just a few spells, but he now has the Quick Study exploit, so I can take advantage of a larger spellbook. I'd be open to suggestions if anybody has them. He has some coin and could easily invest in some scrolls to add to his spellbook here at the beginning if we think the spells would be useful to us.

Yup. Charm person is kinda redundant with Cypher around... If they can't diplomancy them, they'll get rough and force moves with their own charm person and charisma checks, considering they get a +9 bonus to force someone to act while under charm.

Notably though, Cypher does NO damage at all. so something to help our rougher types deal with swarms or other things would help, because if things go south, Cypher will fall back to a supporting roll.

And this is coming from someone who did 20+! :) But then again, Kazu hasn't full attacked yet...

In his previous game, the team faced a golem and he was pretty much useless. Immune to sneak attack and mind-affecting abilities...

Constructs, yeah that would definitely be a bane for your build, but my god, your tengu is a boss, and looks very fun to battle with!

Garr's damage output can get silly if he is range of Flurry of Blows, since the Tri-point Swords a monk weapon, then if they move into attack they get hit with an AoO :)


Actually there is a rogue talent that allows for SA dice on attacks vs constructs. And don't worry about complicated attacks. I did a few nonlethal rogues with sap master and enforcer feats. Leveling one in PFS now, actually.

Question for you guys cause I love talking character dev..
Next level thinking about a few options for Garr, and got three choices..
1) Brawler (Snakebite Striker) - Gain one more Stunning Fist use, Martial cunning, and 1d6 sneak att damage
2) Monk 2 - Gain one more Stunning fist use, Bonus Feat (Combat reflexes)
3) Barbarian 2- 2 more rage rounds, rage power

Optimally I'd like to go barb again, as the extra rage, rage power are sexy. But my archtype gets this stupid ability at second level that lets me wield a sword and gun at the same time or something like that. Which really rp wise just doesn't fit. With choices one and two I'll most likely pick up extra rage as my 3rd lv feat

I'm not very good with build or multiclassing, but if barbarian is the way you want to go, I'd say do it. If you don't mind loosing uncanny dodge, keep with barbarian and just don't use the two-handed gunfighting ability.

Or, You could abuse the two handed gun thing to get in a particularly powerful opening salvo and then switch to just attacking after that. To make it fit more RP wise, you can even flavor it as being gifted a "Hand Held Cannon" that you can fire in the opening round and then switch to fighting.
