euphoric tranquility and friendly attacks

Rules Questions

The spell intially has no saving throw. However, if a creature attack the victim, he then gets a saving throw.

Euphoric tranquility says:
A creature under the effect of this enchantment enters a state of euphoria. The target treats all creatures as dear friends and abhors violence, but may rise up to protect itself if violence is perpetrated against it. Until the end of the spell's duration, the creature's speed is halved, and it cannot make attacks or cast spells. If the creature is attacked, it gets a Will Saving Throw. If the Saving Throw succeeds, the creature can make act normally for 1 round. If the Saving Throw fails, the creature moves half its speed away from the attacker as its next action.

it appears to me that the easy way to beat that spell is for one of the target's ally to attack him for the round. He doesn't need to get hit, just get attacked.

So if you target the big boss in front of you, he only nees one of his minion to attack him once to get a save and potientially be free for that round.

Is that spell so easy to beat????

Liberty's Edge

No saving throw unless attacked.
Helpful when interacted or questioned.
Need a ST to act normally if attacked.

Yes, the spell is broken, but not because it is easy to beat.

There's nothing wrong with a spell that forces an ally to slap the target around a bit screaming "snap out of it!". It's a nice spell. Next time, take out the minions first, then put the whammy on the BBEG. It won't take much to end the battle after that.

"Could I borrow that evil artifact sword you were going to take over the world with? Let's put it away in that cabinet for safekeeping. Somebody could get hurt with that thing!" *push cabinet into lava pit*
