I remember a video clip of one of the designers playing with a wired mouse to scientifically determine that it was clearly at least a move action to retrieve something with a weapon cord.
I always hated that because I could do that relatively easily and I'm not particularly agile. Its made even more amusing that one of the more powerful weapons in PF2 is effectively a mace with a 5ft weapon cord attached.
