Krixus, The Ghost in the Dark |
Will read and catch up tomorrow, glad this one got going. Hey you need a face smashed because they owe on a debt Krixus comes cheap. 10% of what he collects. And he always collects, unless they use some sort of witchcraft or something to make him think they have paid or just make him there friend for a bit ;)
Shathash Unmasked |
Okay, so I've gone and made two avatars.
Shathash, and Shathash Unmasked.
The vast majority of the time Shathash is in masked mode. He pretends to be a horribly burned, drunken/addict half-orc necromantic caster of very dubious personal grooming.
Shathash unmasked is a cold, meticulous plotter.
I'm guessing most people are not going to know Shathash unmasked. If there is someone who would be comfortable hanging around with an undead then tell me!
Otherwise Shathash is mostly going to pretend to be that drunken caster I mentioned above.
He needs cash at the moment and will take jobs for that reason.
He's very gullible (doesn't understand emotions) and would be very happy to hang out with those who are good with people.
Krixus: Shathash actually speaks quite passable orcish. Interested in a "half-orc" workmate? He's weak for a half-orc, but tough - and he's got magic when you need it.
Krixus, The Ghost in the Dark |
Yeah sure Krixus doesn't mind the twice born much. Its rare to find one with a brain still, I think of Krixus like the scene from Rocky I when he is beating on the sides of beef, instead Krixus has a couple twice born hanging or ropes that he goes and punches on. :) You just have to watch for them trying to chew on you.
I'm sure Krixus knows Roman. We probably get called in a bunch to bid on the same jobs, maybe even sometimes work together. So many shady peeps. They always need muscle that doesn't ask to many questions. Same with Soru.
Roman Dex |
Not sure Roman would respond to an undead. He's never run into one before, but is probably used to people referring to them as evil and dangerous.
Seeing as how we're almost all looking for work, I'd suggest that we just happen to be living in the same district as each other and run into each other while looking for work. We respect each other as friendly competition, unlike those other "worthless" thugs looking for work.
No-name blaster |
Herrnarrel hasn't had any previous contact with the Undead in any form, but being in Kaer Maga for even as little time as he has, has inundated him against rash judgements based on species, religion, or profession. He might be a little wary of everyone based on the city's reputation alone, but as far as he's concerned, everyone has their place. Of course, not much stands up to being burned to ash, or melted down in a pool of acid if things get too hairy for him, so he's not too worried either and even less so if he's with the right group of... people?
Soru Shisen |
Speaking of districts which one would everyone live in?
As far as Soru goes. I don't think he has the means to live in any district but the warrens or the bottoms. He would be more comfortable in the bottoms and would fit him best at this time. Does not hurt that a lot of the cities blacksmiths make their home there too. ;)
GrinningJest3r |
I would be looking for a place in the Tarheel Promenade district, but with few obviously marketable skills, I've been stuck in the Warrens. I'm not interested in joining the Arcanists' Circle (true Neutrality is very rarely fun), but having that much magical knowledge close at hand could be very valuable.
Shathash Unmasked |
It is to be preferred that no-one is aware that Shathash is twice-born.
The destruction of those aware of Shathash's state is to be desired. Exceptions can be made, as cooperation is an easy and powerful way to acquire power via allies towards the fulfillment of the Primary Goal.
The problem is threefold
- (A) those who regard free-willed undead as an abomination will attempt destruction, which will render the Primary Goal achievable.
- (B) those who truck with the twice-born may well have the ability to command them and currently resistance is minimal. Shathash is a 1st level necromancer's ideal thrall. This will risk existence and definitely cause a delay in fulfilment of the Primary Goal.
- (C) the existence of (A) and (B) means that information about Shathash's state is a valuable commodity, biasing neutrals towards treachery.
Shathash |
I dunno. Reckon the only advantage to being a beggar is you can choose where you're staying. Just need a nice flat piece of ground somewhere. Don't want to live in Akar-Te though - too many damn zombies.
And yeah, I'm trying to get the character & mask worked out right now. If you don't like the phrasing speak up - it's going to be a long game (with any luck)! :)
Saurtaok the Silly |
Background:
Saurtaok came from a tribe of kobolds who worshiped red dragons; their common offerings were burned corpses of human and dwarven children, as well as stolen livestock and pets. While Saurtaok was raised to dance for the rituals, he didn't feel like he could connect to their 'god'. So he decided to leave-and was almost killed by his own tribe for it.
Later, out in the blazing sun, he found an explorer's hat that was big enough to cover his eyes from the harsh sunlight. He only brings it out when he needs to travel in the sunlight.
Personality:
Saurtaok is, generally speaking, a good-natured kobold-he doesn't take sides, and is more willing to make deals than fight. However, he has a huge grudge against dwarves and elves, as these were the common enemies of his tribe, but other than that, he can get along with the races-as long as they treat him with respect, of course...
Here's his background and personality.
Tobaris |
At Shatash. It would be likely that you tend to ape the behavior of those around you without truly understanding it as a tactic to avoid detection. This could lead to awkward situations and you may revert to cold logic when you are pushed beyond your ability to copy others.
I'm setting up the gameplay thread, those I've approved are welcome to post. I will consider further applications.

Soru Shisen |
@Shathash
My suggestion is play off his actions rather then words. To me it was not the plain speaking android (data anyone) that made me think of emotionless beings. More it was the utter lack of reaction to stimulation and almost obliviousness of morality. Kicking someone burning alive in front of you and laughing is evil. Kicking someone burning alive out of your way without a glance and moving on like it was a stroll in the park is emotionless. Just my opinion, its a hard character to play to me. Hope that helps a little.
Edit- Got ninja'ed, heading over to the thread. :P
