PC Wealth on the character advancement table?

Rules Questions

Does it mean that if we start at level 3, we start with 3000 gp? And when we reach level 4, we automatically gain 6,000?
Thanks!

Not quite. It's the amount of wealth you are expected to have ata given level. SSo if you start at 3, you'll get 3k. And by the time you get to 4th level, you should have 6k.

Sovereign Court

Indeed, that is the suggested amount of wealth that you should have to operate with regards to the CR system.

Just a guideline really, but a tool that can help out some GM's. Don't worry if your under it. If your over it your GM might be dishing out too much cash and you might notice things getting a bit easy unless your spending that coin on strange things.

It's not really a guideline...it's what the game assumes. It's as much a guideline as any other rule in the game. If you stray from it, the game starts to break down a bit, just as it would if you tripled every class' hit die. Or halved them.

Ahh... Thanks guys! So if they reach level 4 with just 2000 gold, I should throw them a treasure chest or two?

You, as GM, should know how much XP and treasure your encounters are giving. You should be balancing the treasure to the XP so their wealth is enough when they level-up.
That is why there is three columns on the treasure-per-CR chart, so you have the correct amount of treasure matching the fast/slow level chart you are using.

Not sure if its useful info but I think most published moduals have twice wbl in them. This accounts for the fact that pcs often miss stuff. Or if they sell everything they end up on target.
