Been keeping this one quiet but a while back we were talking with our fans and they LOVED the idea of a dinosaur/ kind of paleolithic setting.
In the same vein as our previous "campaign inspirations" "Of Angels and Demons" and "Equinox" we will be releasing a dinosaur themed campaign inspiration next Saturday!
Seriously, this is pretty cool. Caleb Aylsworth (Heroes of the East 2, Fury of the Elements, Legendary Levels, Lineage Draconis, Ravan & Shaper) takes the reigns and brings us to Karkus- an ancient world filled with saurian people. Caleb worked on Necropunk and brings a lot of that complex interaction between societies to this project.
The art is absolutely fantastic and done by Andrew “Viking” Bortniak (Necropunk Bestiary, Champions of Magic, Lineage Draconis, Little Red Goblin Games Bestiary, Dogs of War, Ravan & Shaper). I'll be posting some up as soon as we export it.
It also includes dinosaur martial arts styles. You read that right. basically "dinosaur kung fu".

We have a "August Tyrant Style" if you want to stop around like a t-rex and a "Rising Hunter Style" for the pterosaur in you.
We also have rules for things like riding dinosaurs (Finally, you can smite evil from the back of your raptor).
Edit: It's almost this cool.

I've had a dinosaur druid banging around in my head for a while and this sounds like the absolute awesome.
Also, this.

I know right? It's a relatively quick conversion and works for Paladins, Cavaliers, and Samurai.
There are also a few other styles in there, but I don't want to ruin the surprise.
We've also got a whole slew of saurian races in there and art to match it. It is some of the best art I've ever seen from Viking (one of our in-house artist and art director for the studio).
Let me see if I can get one of them uploaded as a spoiler today.

Facebook doesn't have anywhere near enough the resolution required for me to truly show off this piece of artwork, but I think it gets the point across :-)

Oh my god, that's just like one of the races I homebrewed for om-nom-id's campaign setting. Archeopteryx for the win. I hope it has gliding...

I will buy this setting in a heartbeat, but the perfect selling point for me would be Saurian races that were like the Saurials from D&D. Those have been my favorite race, next to lizardfolk, since I read about them in the Complete Book of Humanoids for AD&D.

I love Karkus thus far; any tips though for putting a map of the place together?
I did intend for the setting to be a bit mutable as far as geography and country borders go. The neighboring countries are noted in a few entries. The Nakathi Empire won back the territory of Irkamk from the Alkark Empire, for example, so it would make sense for those territories to share borders. Nakathi shares borders with Trathskan, which is a southern region, so naturally it would be somewhere in the south. Although I admit I failed to mention it, Karkus is supposed to be somewhat Pangea-like, one huge continent with a number of islands off to the sides, such as Alkar island. Alkar Island and the Alkark Empire would share borders, the former being an island that nearly hit the latter upon entry into Karkus.
The kreyu as a people are fairly disorganized, being mainly large tribes and clans, but have almost total control over the northern territories. Since they're allied with the Alkark Empire, they might live nearby or simply be in an area the alkark wanted to be sure was defended. There's also a fair bit of jungle and other wild lands that I wanted to leave up to the mind of the reader, and naturally that gives the opportunity to make up some of your own tribes or secluded civilizations. The ghiskanak are almost entirely this sort of group, and the races all have good reasons for striking out on their own. There are alkark who don't buy into the government, corsath with different ideas on what lands to travel, and kreyu who want to see what other cultures are like, possibly without trampling them in the process.
Thanks so much for enjoying the setting! I'd love to see your map when you're done! Let me know if there's anything else I can do to be of assistance!

You're very welcome, though don't expect too much from me. I suck at these sorts of things.

So working on the close up region of my first Karkus game [this Saturday] and I wanted some feedback. again, the map is crude but readable.
The area of the region is based off of my world map from earlier and is the borderland between the Alkark Empire and the Trathskan Legate. The color coding for location factions is as follows: Black is a Unaligned community, Red is the Alkark Empire, Green is the Trathskan Legate, and Grey are abandoned ones/ruins.
The final map I hand to players will not show as many communities as some are hidden- this is for me as a GM.
