Metamagic & Spells that enhance weapons, shield, armor

Rules Questions

I didn't find any topic so far about how do metamagic feats interact with spell that enhance weapons, shield or armor.

Some Metamagiced spells might be obvious, for example Extended Magic Weapon which would increase the duration of spell effect, but what about Disruptive Magic Weapon? Would the spellcaster who was damaged during a round have to manage concentration checks to cast spells?

These spells can go quite far, for example, Dazing Sun Metal, which would deal 1d4 fire damage on hit and require a Will save or be dazed for 1 round.

So what Metamagic feats are good for such weapon, shield and armor enhancing spells? And how do they interact with such spells?

Thanks everyone for responses

Sun Metal does not do damage to the target of the spell. It targets one melee weapon. The Dazing does not apply because Sun Metal does not do damage to its target.

I disagree Dark Sorcerer.

Empower Spell

Benefit: All variable, numeric effects of an empowered spell are increased by half, including bonuses to those dice rolls.

Saving throws and opposed rolls are not affected, nor are spells without random variables. An empowered spell uses up a spell slot two levels higher than the spell’s actual level.

Empower Spell would apply to Sun Metal. The Sun metal would do 1d4 *1.5.

dazing spell feat
Benefit: You can modify a spell to daze a creature damaged by the spell. When a creature takes damage from this spell, they become dazed for a number of rounds equal to the original level of the spell. If the spell allows a saving throw, a successful save negates the daze effect. If the spell does not allow a save, the target can make a Will save to negate the daze effect. If the spell effect also causes the creature to become dazed, the duration of this metamagic effect is added to the duration of the spell. A dazing spell uses up a spell slot three levels higher than the spell's actual level. Spells that do not inflict damage do not benefit from this feat.

I was about to agree with you but then I reread the last sentence. Does the spell inflict the damage or does the spell augment the damage caused by the attack?

Seeing as that extra damage would not exist without the spell, it was caused by the spell and is therefore applicable.

Naturally, interpretations and opinions of others will vary.

This is why I posted topic. I am not sure if that is spell, spell effect simply, or both and to which metamagic feats it would apply.

In the case of Sun Metal, dazing does not apply.
"When the weapon’s wielder hits with this weapon, it deals an additional 1d4 points of fire damage."
It's not the spell that deals damage, it's the weapon. This is similar to the case of Empowered Summon Monster, which does not increase the damage dealt by the summoned creature (though if summoning more than one it affects how many).
