Paths to being a Chronicler (PFS Legal)

Advice

Grand Lodge

So, I'm almost certainly going to have my next PFS character aim for Pathfinder Chronicler.

I've read Oterisk's Guide, and he had some excellent points.

Here are my current thoughts.

He will be a gnome, linguist. Most likely taking Dungeon or Urban as his alternate racial terrain.

I believe I will do 4 levels of Vanilla Bard, and 1 level of Evangelist Cleric, with the Luck domain. This gives me 2nd level Bard spells, uninterrupted Bardic Music. Cleric Spells, and True Strike once per day. I lose a few extra Bard spells, and some skill points, but don't lose BAB, and gain so much from Cleric.

Mithral Breastplate (non-proficient), but use Armor Expert

Take Spell Focus and Greater Spell Focus, both for Conjuration, to bump the saves up on Grease and Glitterdust, to keep them relevant as crowd control at higher levels.

Keep UMD and Spellcraft maxed.

Versatile Performance is Oratory

Considering Skill Focus or the feat for Spellcraft and UMD, to be able to tap hard checks with those.

Load up on lots of cool stuff to help the party, sing heal, crowd control, etc.

Thoughts on other mechanics to add? Other Trait? feats?

Did you attend GenCon this year? There was a boon that you could win that gave your character the option to spend 4 PP and gain proficiency in one of four things, one of which was a breastplate. You don't gain the proficiency with all armors of that type, so no wearing chainmail or what have you, but it's a thought.

I did attend, but did not get that boon, mayhap I should go see if there is anyone trading that one eh?
