In reviewing the text of some cards, I'm wondering whether I've been playing certain cards correctly.
Many card specifically mention "any character at your location" or "any character."
Blessings (and Find Traps), however, don't (but they specify "any check").
Are you supposed to be able to play these to help other characters? Or should a card explicitly specify "any character" to be played to help others?

Tracker1,
I know that's what most of us (myself included) have assumed. I'm just wondering (from the developers) whether that's supposed to be the case.
For instance, Find Traps says "any check" for disabling a barrier (without specifying a character or location), but I'm not sure whether it was intended for any check at any location for any character.
Other cards are explicit about any character, so I'm wondering if that's supposed to be the wording to help other players.

I don't have the game in front of me: it makes sense that one player could ask the "gods" to help another player in another location, but it wouldn't make sense if I could play some more earthly card and influence another location, right?
Do the cards that allow you to impact any location tend to be supernatural in nature?

But the question is can you use it at another location.
My problem is that some cards specifically say you can use this to help someone at any location, some say only at your location, and some do not mention anything at all about location.
Same holds true for cards saying or not saying can be used any check. Is that any check you make, any check any character is making, any check any character is making depending on location?
I guess the question is when the card does not mention, is there a default rule to go with about for who and where you can use a card? I don't remember anything in the rulebook about this.

Mike has stated on one of these forum threads that if it doesn't specify where you can use it, you can use it anywhere.

Invisibility does not state a limitation of where you can use it or for whom, but on another thread, two people mentioned that you can not used it for someone else at another location. I guess that might be why I am confused. So what is correct?

Invisibility let's you evade a monster. Whenever you evade something it is implied that it is your encounter not another player, so i guess it is assumed that it is the active player and did not bother to put "your encounter" on the card. Another spell Sanctuary let's you choose a character at your location to evade a monster.

I guess that means the same thing then for anything that says "your" right? It can't be used to help anyone else like "your check" means you and only you, correct? The reason I ask is there's that part in the manual that says you can only use one card of a type (or more than one type) to help someone else (or yourself). This implies that I can use things other than blessings like leather armor or crossbow. Now with crossbow it specifically says I can help someone else (and only someone else) at another location with the 1d4. So it makes sense that any card that says "your check" or "you" cannot be used to help someone else in their check. Finally, does this change at all when the two people are at the same location. I know it doesn't make sense I should be able to use leather armor from another location, but it kind of does make sense that the guy standing next to me should be able to take the brunt of the damage.
All that said, I'm just looking for a ruling on "your check" and "your" in the cards. Does this mean I cannot under any circumstance use a card with "your" for someone else at mine or any other location?

When we say "you," we mean "you."
When we want to refer to any character at your location, including yourself, we say "a character at your location."
When we want to refer to any character at your location, not including yourself, we say "another character at your location."
When we want to refer to any character at a location other than yours, we say "a character at another location."
When we want to refer to any character, not including yourself, regardless of their location, we say "another character."
