Nesod: The diagram softly gives softly like dried sponge.

Did you folks realize that the 3 archways in the north wall lead down hallways, I was reading over my description of the room and this may not have been communicated properly. Sorry

Liberty's Edge

Oh. Didn't read that. My fault.

"Men...and Liss and Jenny...I say we go down the third hallway!!!"

Sovereign Court

All: The surfaces of the rooms and passageways of this section are made of a violet cloudlike substance that smells vaguely of vinegar.

Climbing walls made of the cloud substance is quite easy, a climbing character can punch or kick as many handholds and footholds as desired i.e.(don't roll a 1)

Tell me when you want to enter

I CAST DIVINATION AND ASK MY GOD BASHY WHICH ARCH WE SHOULD GO TO FIRST. THESE TRAPS ARE IN THE WAY OF ME KILLING THINGS.

Sovereign Court

AMH:
Your god tells you that since this is a 1E/2E experience, that you should start at the left and work your way right

BASHY SAYS WE SHOULD WORK FROM LEFT TO RIGHT. LET US FOLLOW THE WILL OF BASHY.

Sovereign Court

Notes on Corridor#1 also known as corridor of shadows: These areas have been permanently darkened to negate all forms of natural and magical light. While exploring these areas, torches burn but generate no illumination.Continual light, dancing lights and other light related spells do not function ,nor does infravision i.e darkvision. Spells such as magic missile that require the caster to see a rarget are useless.

All attacks, saving throws and AC's are 4 worse.

Want me to exhale flame down this tunnel? Or do you want me to keep my gas in and use it for another time?

You understand his sense of humor and the chuckle in his voice.

Consulting the dragon ancestors once more, He asks them what sort of monsters could await them in the corridor ahead.

Knowledge: Dungeoneering 1d20 + 2 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 2 + 10 = 32

Knowledge: Arcane 1d20 + 2 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 2 + 5 = 17

Boo yea!

Sovereign Court

AMS: Please keep your gas to yourself, also there are way too many monsters that could exist in a dark corridor to narrow it down.

"Sounds like a plan... Blubbrrrr..."
Changes into a cube for blindsight.

Liberty's Edge

Relies on Darkvision

Trying to think what can be used to counter this magical darkness...

Hints, anyone?

Sovereign Court

AMS: With the insight of the gold dragons you determine that nothing will dispel this darkness.

But hmmm, a 10' cube might have to squeeze into a 5' corridor... Well, 5x20x10 is a different perspective.

Sovereign Court

Jenny: The passageway is 10' wide... convenient yes

My inner dragon is telling me that we're marching into danger.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I BASH THE DANGER WITH MY MACE.

Sovereign Court

Now that's the spirit!

"BURBLE."

Can I throw a dispel magic on the Darkness?

Sovereign Court

AMS: You can but it will be for naught, You're not afraid of the dark are you?

Could be....

"Smash things? Me like that idea."

You like anything so long as blood is shed.

Sorry I have been inatentive. Busy at work and got hooked on Might and Magic X: Legacy at home.

JUST THROW A FIREBALL OR SOMETHING DOWN THERE.

Sovereign Court

Alissa: Don't sweat it, real life trumps fantasy games.

AMH: Since it appears darkness is the most terrifying spell ever!

Message from bashy:
You feel that you can go down any of the hallways

Liberty's Edge

Hallway 3!!!

Sovereign Court

Nesod: Ok then The cooridors of mist it is, The surfaces of the rooms and passages of this section are made of a violet cloud-like substance that smells vaguely of vineagar. The substance has the texture of cotton.

All players will move at 1/2 speed, sinking slightly with every step as if walking through snow. Falling on these surfaces from any height is like falling into feathers and causes no damage.

Climbing walls made of the cloud substance is quite easy, a character can punch or kick as many handholds and footholds as desired.

Do you wish to enter?

Nasty takes some of the cotton like substance and eats it.

He enters.

Sovereign Court

Nasty: The substance tastes like vinegar flavored cotton. The cotton like substance makes walking a true pleasure. 50' in front of you there is a golden door studded with 3 black gems and 2 handles.

30' down the hallway is a passageway that heads east.

Wait. We are splitting the party again?

Sovereign Court

Alissa: From what I understand, everyone was afraid to go in the dark, so you all moved to tunnel#3, Nasty then tasted the hallway to make sure it is safe for travel and consumption.

if I am wrong please let me know

*turns back into a human*

"No, let's not split up. The darkness can wait. And according to the mosaic, we want to go down this eastern passage, that's toward the key, right?"

"You're right. Splitting the party is wrong. And don't touch any handles. They could be trapped like the others."

AH H's god advised him to take the corridors left to right.
If we trust him, as AM H does, we need to take the #1 corridor first.
That would be the one on the left with the black marble arch.

Question:
The signs above the archways say:
THREE KEYS FOR THE GOLD,
TWO STRINGS TO BREAK THE CUBE,
ONE CUBE TO TRAP THE MIST.

Your description says it made up of the same materials as the doors. Is each section made up of one type of material, or does each letter change, or is each letter made up of all three materials?

Sovereign Court

Alissa: The message(that every good villian leaves in there place of residence)is made up of a patchwork of all 3 materials i.e. each section of the message has all 3 materials in it.

Is each section above one archway, or is it all one line spanning all three arches?

Sovereign Court

Alissa:The message is above all three archways

I am looking at the mosaic on the floor.

Left Arch - 10 foot wide 10 foot tall hallway goes 50 feet then turns left into a 10x10 area where the key is.

Middle Arch - 10 foot wide 10 foot tall hallway goes 50 feet then turns Right into a 10x10 area where the key is.

Right Arch - 10 foot wide 10 foot tall hallway goes 50 feet, and the key is there. There is also a 10x10 area to the right.

Are there any other exits in this room besides the way we came in?

Sovereign Court

Alissa: All Hallways are 10' x 10'

Left Arch: i.e. Corridors of Shadow, 50' long hallway with a 10' wide opening 25' down the hallway, Key is shown at the end of a 10' long hallway

Middle Arch: i.e. Corridors of Glass, 50' long hallway with a 10' wide opening 25' down the hallway, Key is shown at the end of a 10' long hallway.

Right Arch: i.e. Corridors of Mist, 50' long hallway with a 10' wide opening 25' down the hallway heading to the right. The key is shown at the end of the 50' long straight hallway.

There are no other exits from this room

Thanks, got it now.

Sovereign Court

Alissa: No worries, This would be alot easier if I could draw it.

Here is my plan.
We start in the darkened hallway.
We check everything as we go along.
We do not take the key when we reach that side area, but we will search it.
We then go to the end of the hallway and see what is there.
Then we go back and get the key.

We will repeat this plan for the other hallways.

Anyone else have suggestions?

Ummm, go for the keys instead?

Liberty's Edge

Give up and try to get in good with the Dark Presence?

Sovereign Court

Hmmm. It appears I should have given that light that shines when all others go out to one of you instead of that ungrateful hobbit.

Jenny the Jellymancer wrote:

I was thinking that where the keys are may be trapped and the way to turn it off may be elsewhere. Since we do not have a rogue to disarm the traps (until I take a level the next time we level up) I want to check everything out first.

Okay, you've done right by us before. Lead on, fearless leader.O
