Okay, the lead rat gets thwacked, and the shocker lizard tries to eat it, but yields the floor to Gassy. The leader rat disappears, given to The Great Devourer. All that remains is his little cloak, which looks much like a handkerchief. You gain 15 XP each, plus 30 XP for defeating the evil plot of the lead rat.
Looking through the room, you manage to find the corpses of nine rats. The rat statue is still just as ugly.

Detect Magic, then I look at the cloak and the statue with some concentration.
