So how do I get my account marked as a goblin squad member? My son and I have the buddy and I am his buddy. He revived confirmation that the account were linked but now it appears I am not a goblin squad member.
I recommend sending an email to customer.service@paizo.com. It wouldn't hurt to also post something in the Customer Service forum.

I checked with Customer Service. Their reply:
"Goblin Squad members must be present to receive their free mini. However the mini will also be free to customers making a $50 minimum purchase at Paizo's Gen Con booth. Additionally, the mini will be available for sale exclusively on paizo.com after the convention. "
No picking up minis for friends.

That's pretty damn lame.

You know, I'm hard pressed to think of a way this could have been handled much worse.
We get told that we have a 'free' mini available to us. But it turns out that in order to get this mini, we need to attend Gen Con in person.
So, basically, the downloadable certificate just serves to tell all of us who don't happen to be going to Gen Con that we're missing out on something. Maybe, if we're lucky, there'll be some left after Gen Con, and we'll be able to buy them at paizo.com. But we won't be able to use our 'free mini' coupon; we'll still have to pay for the figure.
All this for a group of people who were the first to step up and support Pathfinder Online, and dug into their pockets to do so. I'd have though that this was the last community you'd want to annoy. But what do I know?

...we're getting a bunch of minis anyway.
Some folks don't have room or desire for minis, so the whole concept of minis in general was not-too-useful for them in the first place. Think, also, of the folks who'll spend so much time playing PFO that they'll never need minis as other than art! :-)

Just out of curiosity, are you suggesting the original announcement of the free mini did not include the fact that it was only available to Goblin Squad members who showed up at GenCon?
Or are you upset because you ignored that part of the announcement, and now want to blame that on someone else?

My kids will get most of mine. Barbie and My Little Pony will soon be besieged by all manner of nasty critters.

Yeah I find it annoying personally.
I'd like my mini, but it gets expensive to fly to the US from Australia to go pick it up. Welcome to being part of 'ROW' as Reaper puts it :P
It would be nice to either:
*Chuck it in with my next order and mail it to me (I really dont mind the postage cost), I see it will be available from Paizo, but I dont suppose they will keep the 'free' part.
OR
*Allow me to kick it over to any of my US mates who ARE going to GenCon.
As it is all I am really holding is a piece of paper saying 'Hey grats, heres the mini you cant have'.
Cheers.
