So, a favorite GM of mine said we were starting a new campaign. He said we were going to plan the first ten levels, and then start at first.
A few rules.
1. Only Core Rulebook and APG.
2. Must prepare for Prestige Classes.
So, naturally, I started looking through the Prestiges. My eyes fell upon Dragon Disciple, and I loved it. Next- race. "What gets Charisma bonus?", I wondered. The DM blurted out "Gnome" before thinking, and it hit me.
The classic "small guy", born to the Blood of Dragons, trying to live up to his dad's (or mom's) power.
I decided to choose a White dragon, because I'd only thought of DD as fire-based.
What I didn't know, however, is that we were running The Godsmouth Heresy. Full of Undead. So, my cold spells are rendered useless.
We've played through the scenario, are level 3, and I have some good news. He's continuing the levels of the Ossuary! Hopefully there's more than undead in this pit.
Okay, just had to share this story!
Any excellent RP opportunities will be considered. Thanks!

Undead are once-living creatures animated by spiritual or supernatural forces. An undead creature has the following features.d8 Hit Die.
Base attack bonus equal to 3/4 total Hit Dice (medium progression).
Good Will saves.
Skill points equal to 4 + Int modifier (minimum 1) per Hit Die. Many undead, however, are mindless and gain no skill points or feats. The following are class skills for undead: Climb, Disguise, Fly, Intimidate, Knowledge (arcana), Knowledge (religion), Perception, Sense Motive, Spellcraft, and Stealth.
Traits: An undead creature possesses the following traits (unless otherwise noted in a creature's entry). No Constitution score. Undead use their Charisma score in place of their Constitution score when calculating hit points, Fortitude saves, and any special ability that relies on Constitution (such as when calculating a breath weapon's DC).
Darkvision 60 feet.
Immunity to all mind-affecting effects (charms, compulsions, morale effects, patterns, and phantasms).
Immunity to bleed, death effects, disease, paralysis, poison, sleep effects, and stunning.
Not subject to nonlethal damage, ability drain, or energy drain. Immune to damage to its physical ability scores (Constitution, Dexterity, and Strength), as well as to exhaustion and fatigue effects.
Cannot heal damage on its own if it has no Intelligence score, although it can be healed. Negative energy (such as an inflict spell) can heal undead creatures. The fast healing special quality works regardless of the creature's Intelligence score.
Immunity to any effect that requires a Fortitude save (unless the effect also works on objects or is harmless).
Not at risk of death from massive damage, but is immediately destroyed when reduced to 0 hit points.
Not affected by raise dead and reincarnate spells or abilities. Resurrection and true resurrection can affect undead creatures. These spells turn undead creatures back into the living creatures they were before becoming undead.
Proficient with its natural weapons, all simple weapons, and any weapons mentioned in its entry.
Proficient with whatever type of armor (light, medium, or heavy) it is described as wearing, as well as all lighter types. Undead not indicated as wearing armor are not proficient with armor. Undead are proficient with shields if they are proficient with any form of armor.
Undead do not breathe, eat, or sleep.
Undead are not immune to cold. Specific undead might be but that is not the case in general.

Thank you! I had forgotten that. It's mostly skeletons that are immune to cold.

Too bad you choose White Dragon, Green Dragons make more sense from RP point of view for gnomes because of the fact they are forest dwellers and have a connection to the fey. And acid is the best energy for resistances in the game. Still a cool concept though.
I did think about Green, but we live around/in Kaer-Maga. And that just didn't strike me as a forest-type place.
I love the idea of a Dragon Gnome. His strength is 9 right now, so he's focusing on energy damage dealing spells (burning hands, shocking grasp) until he gets the strength bonus (from ability and DD) and natural armor bonus to engage in melee more.
Should be fun!!

I love it. This is the kind of character that will be memorable for you and your group for the rest of your lives I bet. Great concept and amazing RP opportunities, I salute you for doing something so unique and interesting.
The other two characters in our group are a Cleric2/Wizard1 (mystic theurge) and a Barbarian2/Oracle1 (rage prophet). Human and a Half-orc. Both medium.
So, every time carrying capacity, height, or size pops up, he reminds them"You wait. You'll see. I'll be as awesome as Daddy one day! Just...give me a few levels."
We've played probably 3-4 sessions, and I already love this guy.
Abresh, the mighty son of a White Dragon.

Lava Gnomes are a subrace of gnomes that all take Pyromaniac and the darkvision traits. It mentions them in the ARG.

I wound up making him a giant gecko riding prankster (bard) / Grenedier (alchemist).
The ability to walk around a dungeon / indoor encounter without ever touching the floor is driving my GM's nuts. I love the look on their face every time we have to roll a reflex save for a trap and I remind them that I'm on the wall. Plus the +1 to attack for high ground is fun. I still haven't had a chance to play with whip stealing in combat yet. I'm also usually the only party member who can ride my mount into indoor combats and up and down ladders.
I'm not looking forward to 5/6th level, which is where I expect to start having mounts killed out from under me by AoE spells. (so far, given the choice, most attackers would, foolishly, rather target me than my mount.)
