How useful are the flip mats?

Accessories

So I have a big vinel mat also have the white board pieces with the map grid on them, I have the Dwarven Forge kickstarter coming in October, so the question is will the flip mats be that useful for me running games?

I guess that would all depend on the flip mat and if it was a match to something you frequently used. I have a mondo mat covered in plexi, have 40+ boxes of Dwarven Forge, but I am always looking for useful visuals.

I think they're great if you have a large number of them. (That way any "recycling issues" aren't that obvious). Otherwise, I'd be selective and pick areas you think will be revisited over and over (like the various urban settings, taverns and so forth).

So are any of the out of print ones really really good and needed and they have no replacements for?

City streets and city market get a lot of use at our table. They seem to be out of print.

You can buy the game tiles from Fat Dragon Games. It is basically a modular way to create streams, paths, lava, etc. I will be using a pretty solid combination of both FDG and Dwarven Forge once my KS comes in October! It is a great way to build a dungeon with water in it as I lack the water tiles from DF and my wife won't let me buy them...

edit: To clarify, the "game tiles" from FDG are 2D printable images in a 1x1 grid system.

A number of the ones that are running low do not have replacements... and replacements won't be as useful to a pathfinder society DM for a scenario that used a specific map pack (almost every PFS scenario uses at least one now)

I love my flip mats and between me and our main GM we have a fair number.
As far as a must have, one of the Inns is I think a must but there several ones, including the hunting lodge which I use.

How do I know which ones are running low?

i think this is the most recent listing of low stock items.
