Lantern Lodge Familiar Weapons prestige reward Question

On the Lantern Lodge Familiar Weapons prestige reward it says similar exotic weapons from other sources can be selected at GM discretion.
So my question is can I use this to learn Exotic Weapon Prof Falcata, Katana, or Wakizashi in Pathfinder Society Play?

Falcata is probably pushing it because its supposed to be an eastern weapon.

And you might want to either post the actual language, or re-read carefully, as they're usually fairly explicit on what can be allowed. Also, in PFS in general, if it's "selected by GM" assume that means nothing else is allowed.

I've seen plenty of places where it has said at GM Discretion and there are quite a few other options players can take from other sources in Society play like familiar or companion options. The prestige rewards are meant for society play so I would think it saying at GM Discretion means it would include other weapons that are printed in other books that fit the style of the weapons. I agree with Falcata not being an option, but I don't even know what a Falcata is so wasn't sure where it came from. But Katana and Wakizashi are similar, and maybe it would include Falcata.

The Exact wording is:

Familiar Weapons (5 PP)
You gain Exotic Weapon
Proficiency as a bonus feat with one of the following
weapons: kama, nunchaku, sai, shuriken, siangham,
or spiked chain. At the GM’s discretion, similar exotic
weapons from other sources can be added to this list.

So I am still looking for an answer to my question so I can start up on a character concept I came up with when I saw this.

If it's not called out in another source as opening something up for a specific ability (such as expanded companions/familiars) in the Additional Resources, then you are generally going to be stuck with the baseline items listed in the ability. In this case, You gain Exotic Weapon Proficiency as a bonus feat with one of the following weapons: kama, nunchaku, sai, shuriken, siangham, or spiked chain.

The book itself is not just a PFS resource, it is also geared towards home campaigns where GM's are running characters as Pathfinders, or interact with Pathfinders, so it gives a baseline idea, and the home GM can run with it as they see fit.

So, unfortunately, this purchase would not allow a wakizashi or katana in PFS at this time.

Also, a falcata is from the APG, and is a sword with curved heavy front end, where the weight of the weapon is distributed a little more like an axe and the weight leads through the head of the blade providing a heavier hit (in game mechanics x3 crit factor like an axe/hammer).

Hope this helps.

Yeah that helps. Realized all the weapons it says are all monk weapons and that is what it was getting at. Guess I'll have to take a level in Samurai for the proficiency feats.
