Rules Questions

First, let me begin by apologizing for my ignorance. My question is this: Is there a way for my weapon to be a part of my character and only beholden to that character, like the tattoos that become useable? Or perhaps it could be unusable by anyone else and only usable by my character, thereby removing incentive to steal it? I ask because I have a character that is a Rogue/Shadowdancer who owns a special weapon: a Sword of Subtlety with an added Tears of Death effect. The sword's description is as follows:
A +1 short sword with a thin, dull gray blade, this weapon provides a +4 bonus on its wielder's attack and damage rolls when he is making a sneak attack with it.
Tears of Death effect also causes 1D6 Con dmg and paralyzes the target for 10 rounds (DC22 save).
I don't use the character anymore because the campaign broke up, however if I run across such a situation again I would like to know if weapons, armor, or anything else, for that matter, could either become a part of and inseparable from my character, loyal to or only obeys my character, or at the very least is unusable, ineffective, or even damaging to any other character who lays hands on it. Thanks.

Called may be what you are looking for and it is only a +1 property.
