I am attempting to keep it reasonable. And to note, a lot of "opening posts" like this, where we are setting the stage, can grow long, but when things get moving, the posts are likely to be much shorter as there is less time flex to eclipse.

I think the major difference between Eve and Zinny and Hugo is that Eve is probably a lot more confident-- used to doing things on her own and taking care of herself, whereas our 'kids' (well, Zinny at least) are used to taking orders and having their own initiative shouted or scolded down.
....

I said stat wise were similar, not history or persona wise

Um, thanks for the warm welcome Doc? Not sure what else to say about a post like that. You know you could direct a question to me. That would be fine too.

I was one of the original selected players. When I was contacted to join the new recruitment I was actually driving to a convention where I was responsible for running 44 tables of PFS. I did not have time to even sleep over the weekend. I got back to you guys as soon as I could.

Have not played her since your game concluded. Are you currently running anything? Are you still experimenting with random builds?

Wish I could join y'all - but the hogs need to be watched. Oh, and my livestock, too. Don't worry - I'll take care of our part of Daggermark while you're away :-)

Besides, with Hugo gone there's more ale for me, and with Tomid gone I might actually get some without having to barter away my cousin's honor!!

Tomid might screw with your height range. :)

If you are willing to give him a try I would love it. Here is his description.

Standing just shy of 3 feet tall, Tomid is small, and would often be overlooked if not for his fiery red hair. He is quick and has a mischievous twinkly in his green eyes. He can't weigh 30 lbs in all his clothes with rocks in his pockets. People generally like Tomid but initially suspect him if something is amiss. Tomid's quick wit often gets him off though, even when he is guilty.

I can go as Low as 2 Feet in renders and keep scale

Have you made any characters with my randomisation method?

I meant no offense but there was no mention, at all, as to who you where. No submission in the guys/gals thread. Neither you nor Gm &rew saying that you were an accepted player. Not even a hello in the Discussion thread. Just a somewhat intruding post in the gameplay.

Put yourself in our shoes and see what it would look like to you. Personally im not in the habit of acknowledging intruders so i didnt address you.

The situation now having been explained.

Welcome to the group. Let's have fun

What would be the weight of my new armor (leather apron)? 15 pounds of apron seem excessive, lol. Trying to limit the damage of my low strength here. So far i switched his club to a quarterstaff so he can just put his belongings in a sack slinged at the end of the staff. That way he can drop it as a free action going from heavy to medium or light (depending on wether or not there is still a rule that a worn outfit weights nothing).

Hey Doc. Here is my post on the discussion board showing that I did indeed check in. Post 29 I believe. Ill drop it after this.

@ Doc - leather apron & gloves are probably about 5 lbs.

So we're just about all caught up in gameplay - need 3 more ride checks so we can move to the next plot inject.

Imho, when the DM is in a position to have to wait for players to rolls a check, you should just do the roll and get the story rollin. Same with saves for that matter.

Id also like to reiterate my previous question about me and Abis AC bonuses...are the other players going to be getting something similarly useful / permanent?

Rolling 10+ is hard apparently. Riding a horse is also surprisingly hard...apparently.

Male Human Rogue (Charlatan) 3 AC 15 T 12 FF 13 | HP 24/24/d8 | F +1 R +5 W +1 | Init +2 | Perc +6

We don't all have the stamina to be marathon men, Hugo! God forbid we get attacked by lizard dudes on horseback. With those rolls I'd get thrown off my horse and break my neck. Hooray for the ordinary guys and gals!

Yea - I never imagined even your dice rolls would be...so...ordinary :-) On the plus side - you're folding them in well in your story. Expect more fun little tidbits like these throughout. We are all about having fun, here, right?!?

And Hugo - you're right about rolls - I will roll for folks if it goes too long and you can deal with my crappy luck ;-) As far as goodies for everyone...patience, my lad...patience. I gave you and Abby natural abilities based on your backgrounds...

When you get a chance, please put something like this on your character profile page in the Class/Level block:
Druid-1 | AC 12 T 11 FF 11 | HP 10/d8 | F +4 R +1 W +5 | Init +1 | Perc +6

Hugo and Abigail have examples, too. This will help me out as we get into the adventure and help me make initiative rolls, etc. I will continue to use Spoiler blocks in posts that you can open if you meet the criteria (Skill check roll, Name, etc.)

Thanks!!

Male Human Rogue (Charlatan) 3 AC 15 T 12 FF 13 | HP 24/24/d8 | F +1 R +5 W +1 | Init +2 | Perc +6

Done. Although my initiative is technically only +1 now due to Dex loss and the AC is actually lower, too. Should I change this in that line until that damage is reduced?

Nah - the Dex loss is temporary, so we won't have to remember it for too long ;-)

Such a hard decision. Can I have others weigh in?

One on hand, I know Abby is going to the homestead, but, she might not be. Everyone else is going somewhere else and she's not a fighter.

It'll take her some time to run there and back. Humorously, not too long, but it's up to the group if they want to wait for me. It'll be in the realm of ten minutes. That might be too long.

Male Human Rogue (Charlatan) 3 AC 15 T 12 FF 13 | HP 24/24/d8 | F +1 R +5 W +1 | Init +2 | Perc +6

If asked about it IC I can weigh in.

Male Halfling Ninja 2 HP:19/19 AC:18 Fort:1, Reflex:7/8 traps, Will:-1, +2 vs Fear, Init: +4, Per: +6, Stealth +12

OOC I can say "NEVER SPLIT THE PARTY." :)

F Human Fighter 4 | AC 17 T 11 FF 16 | HP 31/35 | F +5 R +2 W +2 | Init +1 | Perc +2

Zinny is more than willing to go along with Abby if asked-- she wants vengeance, in her way, but she's still someone who's most comfortable following the orders of those who seem to know what's going on. Abby counts as that to her. :P

IC Tomid is happy to go check on people before heading into the swamps. 10 minutes might not matter ...

As much as he wants to be a great hero, Hugo is still very much a follower, not a leader. He will go where the group goes. If an actual split happens he will probably go with Abby.

Male Halfling Ninja 2 HP:19/19 AC:18 Fort:1, Reflex:7/8 traps, Will:-1, +2 vs Fear, Init: +4, Per: +6, Stealth +12

Thinking about it further, Tomid would not abandon Abby either. Not only do they work together at the in, but she is his ride, and a nice smelling one at that. :)

Thanks for the bit of insight. It helped me much more clearly make the IC decision without worrying about the OOC repercussions.

Great your making me think of Naked Gun 33 1/3 where Rocko's gang decides what to do with Jane and Frank lists the reasons to keep her a hostage.

Male Human Rogue (Charlatan) 3 AC 15 T 12 FF 13 | HP 24/24/d8 | F +1 R +5 W +1 | Init +2 | Perc +6

Now that it has been broached IC, yes, Silas would go with Abigail for two reasons: one, it seems to be away from combat, and two, she is single.

Interesting, but not completely unanticipated, choices. I'll see what the rest of the group decides and carry on from there. I have a couple of options...I'll probably run you guys simultaneously. The trick is logistics...Do I keep everything in the gamethread, with 'spoiler' posts for each group? Do I just split my posts top and bottom and let each group read what's happening to the other but make you promise to pretend you don't know? Do I bring one group here to discussion and keep one group in gamethread?

These are the problems a GM faces when you split the party...bad enough I have to be a bit schizophrenic, but I have to do that time-travelling trick like Hermione Granger...

;-)

Male Human Rogue (Charlatan) 3 AC 15 T 12 FF 13 | HP 24/24/d8 | F +1 R +5 W +1 | Init +2 | Perc +6

Use bolded headers in each post. Swamp Party, Mima Party, etc.

F Human Fighter 4 | AC 17 T 11 FF 16 | HP 31/35 | F +5 R +2 W +2 | Init +1 | Perc +2

I like Silas's suggestion, yes.

And I think that we can probably manage to avoid meta-gaming with what we know the other group is doing. I at least can solemnly swear not to meta-game. :P

Avoiding meta gaming is fairly easy if you put your mind to it, in my opinion anyways. You just have to add a "What does my character know" before you think about "What would my character do".

I know I like to read everything but can 'compartmentalize" it for role playing :-)
