What makes a Spellbinder / Void Mage such a deadly combo??

Just wanted to know since I wanna try out a Wizard build soon and was looking at some of the posts some people have posted mentioning this combo.

Lantern Lodge

I have yet to play it but from my understanding its because Void allows u to as a standard action decrease the ac and saving through of a single target by 1/2 ur CL then u can swift cast a spell for a greater chance of the spell actually occurring with out them saving. Not to mention that target for the round is more vulnerable to ur allies attacks making a great debuff for the allies to nuke said target.

The archetype is nice because it allows u to have situational spells prepped with out woring much since u have a spell that is pretty much ur ace card that u can prepare at any time as a full round action. So for example u can be rolling with nothing but buff spells and have say Fireball as ur bound spell. U as a full round action can swap out a spell of urs for Fireball then next turn cast it to get rid of a few targets. Same goes for say a spell like Burning hands were u can do the same thing but say as a standard action use ur Void ability to reduce the targets save then swift cast the spell.

Well thats just handy. Is there a way for a Wizard to take multiple schools or can they take only one? I would love to have multiple options like the Void mage mixed with an Admixture school and "ace" spells all ready at a moments notice, plus mixed with Fast Study could make a strong contender

I believe u can only have a single school of magic at a time. But u can be realy sneaky and pick up say a single level of Sorcerer with the Crossblooded archetype. U will be able to get 2 arcanas and a single bloodline ability at the cost of a -2 will saves and 1 CL but the CL can easily be negated with a trait. Might i add the arcanas work with all spells not just the Sorcerer's spells unless stated other wise XD. Personaly if the character has a good cha, which i try to do most of the time with my character, the Elrich Heritage feats are an awesome add as well. For such a wizard id go with Shadow for its ability to stealth in plain sight as long as ur within 10ft of a shadow and its 60ft darkvision. The stealth thing can be incredibly handy by hiding in the shadow of say a team mates pet or archer so u go unnoticed and for sniping by hiding near a tree or bolder so u can have some available cover if needed. Not to mention its a great way to summon monsters with out getting noticed if u go with silent spell. Its pretty much the feat equivalent of perma invisibility if done right.

Void mage counts as a specialization, so you can't be an evoker and a void mage at the same time, sadly.

Though the Shadow bloodline is something fun and flavorful, its not something I'm sure I can work for in my build. I'll need a Cha of 15 to pull out the 60 ft darkvision and HiPS ability which is more Cha than I was wanting to put into this build. Any other really cool things you can do with the class?? What kinds of feats go along with this class??

Hmm if u go with the sorcerer dip the 2 bloodlines id chose would be Shaitan (acid), Marid (cold), Efreeti (fire), Djinni (electricity). Those bloodlines make it whenever u cast a spell that deals energy damage, you can change the type of damage to X. This also changes the spell’s descriptors to match this energy type. Combine the ability with the Elemental and Spell Focus u can realy increase the likelihood to apply ur spells. With that said if u go with say the cold and electricity bloodlines then all ur offensive spells should fire and acid since u can alter the spells damage and description to the chosen type. This combination will allow u to overcome a lot of spell immunities and resistances since u can change the spells energy at whim with out increasing the slot needed like u would with the Elemental Spell Metamagic feat giving u great versatility when it comes to blasting. When doing this though u should be also consider the AoE of said spell trying to aim for a at least 1 line attack, cone, and center radius burst to make optimal use of the spells. A nice example would be acid cloud. With the given blood line u can turn that into a could cloud or cinder cloud and by past the resist/immunity of acid by having it instead do cold or fire a resist/immunity it does not have.
