Scrying vs Stealth

Rules Questions

Simple question: Can you stealth against scrying? I assumed not, since scrying "observes" stealth, and therefore you cannot stealth, but I am not so sure anymore.

If you can stealth, are there any bonuses/penalties or is it the same as a regular opposed perception/stealth check?

I'd suggest they can only stealth if 1. they're in darkness and the scryer doesn't have darkvision, or anything similar or 2. the stealther has some version of the Hide in Plain Sight ability. If not, sounds like a straight perception/stealth check, with no modifier for distance as scrying is presumably quite close.

"Can [wizard spell] be blocked by [non-magical skill], or do you need [other wizard spell] to block it?"

Pathfinder's answer to this mad lib is alarmingly consistent.

I figure you could stealth against clairvoyance, provided you can find cover or concealment, but could only use total concealment against Scrying. (The scryer would know which square you're in, unless you also had Nondetection.)

In both cases, the stealther would need to know they're being observed first. Kind of hard to hide if you don't know where the eye is.

Those are both good points. It's rather interesting that stealth focuses a lot more on the one making the stealth roll than the interactions with the people that they are trying to hide from.
