This is kind of a public service message, as I almost didn't get the word until too late.
Lots of y'all will remember a video game called Planescape: Torment. Those of you who have played it need no reminder about how awesome it was. The rest of you might want to Google a bit to see how many "best games of all time" and "games to play before you die" lists it's ended up on.
A team of game designers are creating a game they intend to be its successor--Torment: Tides of Numenera. Judging by these folks' resumes, they'll do an incredible job.
Best of all, they're going to be hiring Patrick Rothfuss, author of The Name of the Wind, to script some of it. (He talks about it in his blog here.)
Y'all should check out the Kickstarter--they're offering some pretty spectacular deals, essentially for preordering the game.
Hope to talk to you about playing the game sometime!
(Note--crossposted to both games and fiction, to catch fans of Torment and fans of Rothfuss both. Apologies if this seems spammy.)

No problem. I'm not sure it doesn't belong here as well, though most posts in this sub-forum seem to be about pen and paper games.
In any case...hope these guys do produce something new in the Planescape line. I tried out a few of the D&D games (and other, similar, ones) over the years hoping they'd be as good as Torment. Nothing ever came close... :(

Rothfuss contributing to it is nice, and I'm sure his bits will be interesting, but the news that Chris Avellone will be writing for it and serving as overall script editor if they hit $3.5 million is, to me, vastly more exciting.
Did you read Rothfuss? If you did and aren't excited I look askance at your opinion. Every good writer need a good editor, but... Yes, I hope this does not extend the wait for his book three.

I read Rothfuss many months before his first book came out :-D I am also the proud recipient of an Official Rothfuss Man Hug.
I like Rothfuss and I like his books. They are entertaining, but they're not entertaining in a, fifteen-years-later-I'll-still-be-thinking-about-them kind of way. That's what PLANESCAPE: TORMENT is, which Chris Avellone wrote (along with FALLOUT 2, NEVERWINTER NIGHTS 2: MASK OF THE BETRAYER and a lot of FALLOUT: NEW VEGAS).
I'm intrigued by Rothfuss contributing to the game.
Avellone contributing to the game makes it a Day 1 purchase for me.
