(Thanks, Chris!)

Round 5 Rules

The only real "twist" is this bit of info, which is relevant to everyone in the Top 32:

Paizo’s Pathfinder Modules are now 64 pages. The winning adventure will be approximately 32–40 pages in length. The remaining material for the book will be filled with additional content appropriate for the adventure and its location, such as monsters and magic items. (Paizo will provide this additional content. Some of this additional content may come from earlier rounds of RPG Superstar 2013; if so, the authors of that content will be paid for their work and credited in the module!)

This part right here, is awesome. I don't have a horse in this race, but it is always cool to see a company doing right by contributors, even when they would not necessarily have to.

Wow! That will be a cool celebration of the awesome material that has come out of this year's contest. Kudos to Paizo.

I didn't fully understand this part:

Quote:
The concept for a new bonus location that can be used with the adventure, such as a town or monster lair.

In addition to whatever we are planning, we should create a separate location that fits the adventure but may or may not be used by the GM, is that it?

Way cool,

Fans kept asking to see this RPGSS item/monster/archetype in a future product and lo and behold, Paizo listens. :)

Good luck to all 8 of you.

I think you could include a site and/or a monster that may be tangentially related to your adventure. If you travel from the village of A to the ancient battlefield B passing near the weird forest of Q in your adventure you could include something like this: Rumors tell of the lair of the the purple wyrmling Bob.

At least that's my take on it. YMMV barring further clarification, though I don't think we need much handholding at this point. Get your creative circlets on!

*Ahem* Having read the round five rules again, let me back out of the statement that a new monster or magic item is not required. When I wrote that, I was referencing the rules as listed in the pitch document email, and I had not taken a careful read of the rules here. I would feel nauseous if I felt I'd led anyone astray. Please be sure to read the round five rules a few times, everyone. They are more detailed and complete than the email we received this week.

Yes. Just the concept, like a sentence or two.

Very, very cool.

Interesting that the module is to be published in 2013 - presumably the November slot, which is tighter than previous superstar modules.

We feel that publishing the module the same year benefits RPG Superstar. The old way, the module usually didn't come out until after the next competition was over. This way, it'll come out before the next competition starts, allowing us to use it to promote the competition and the winner.

I think that's an awesome development. Well done, Paizo!
