After reading the AP overview in the back of Snows of Summer, I had the idea of coming up with a Reign of Winter soundtrack list. There are a couple really obvious ones, like Mussorgsky's "Hut on Fowl's Legs." That gave me the idea of coming up with a track list showcasing the work of Russian composers in keeping with the Russian folklore theme.
Here's the first few.
1. Taldor. Mussorgsky, Pictures at an Exhibition, Great Gate of Kiev.
2. Baba Yaga's Dancing Hut. Mussorgsky, Pictures at an Exhibition, The Hut on Fowl's Legs.
3. Rasputin Must Die! Tchaikovsky, 1812 Overture, with super-appropriate CANNON!
4. Machine Guns. Gustav Holst, The Planets, Mars, Bringer of War. Not Russian, but so perfect for machine guns that people said Holst had prophetically foreseen trench warfare.
5. The Riders/Baba Yaga. Mussorgsky, Pictures at an Exhibition, Samuel Goldenberg and Schmuyle.
6. Irrisen. Tchaikovsky, Marche Slave.
Who's got some more ideas?

That's really nice. I think I should work Shostakovich 8th Symphony allegro non troppo in somewhere. Good fight music.

For those with more metal-flavored inclinations, might I suggest The Sword. Their first record was called Age of Winter, and features such songs as Winter's Wolves and Maiden, Mother, Crone.

The Full Metal Alchemist Soundtrack. Performed by the Russian Symphony Orchestra, these CDs have a lot of great Russian themes, are classical music based and mood-setting without being intrusive. Some of the best gaming music period, but most excellent for Reign of Winter.

They make my official soundtrack!

Shackled Hut Spoiler (but soundtrack related, yet only appropriate for GMs)
Side trivia, the mirror men were also slightly inspired by "Girl in the fireplace" a well known David Tennent episode of Doctor Who. Its not an easter egg, because they ended up fairly different—but yeah, the thought was crossing my mind.
Also, there is another one.. but I'll see how much this one embarrasses me first before I admit to it. :)

I'm using a combination of the Record of Lodoss War soundtrack, a few select tracks from the game Secret of Mana, and an odd track here and there for winter travel/mood music.
I'm also letting each player pick a theme song, and when something significant happens with their character (or they just do something really cool or dramatic), I'm going to play their theme.
Btw, I'm having trouble finding any good travel music for trudging through a snowstorm. It seems most people find snow falling to be relaxing or peaceful, and make music accordingly. I want something that is slightly disconcerting, but has a definite "snowy" feel to it. Any suggestions?

The White Witches - Prokofiev, Cinderella Waltz
I think Marche Slave actually works better as a Reign of Winter overture. Roll for intro to each session, roll for end credits.

Danneth Sky: Prokofiev, Battle on Ice from Alexander Nevsky or Prokofiev, Night from Scythian Suite might fit the bill for traveling through snow--probably not a raging blizzard, though.
Anybody who's prepped more of it have a good place to work in Rachmaninov, Isle of the Dead?

Your players will be full of ecstasy and fire when you play Rasputin by Boney M for them. Rasputin! There was a cat that really was gone.
Then blow their pretty little minds with the major key version.
Oh... Those Russians.

Danneth Sky: Tchaikovsky - Francesca di Rimini is in part about a raging windstorm in Hell--could be good for a blizzard.

I remember hearing this in Germany when I was a kid!

This has done me wonders. I open every session with this, and it really has that fairy tale feel. Plus, it's old enough to not be immediately recognizable unless your players are cinephiles. It doesn't kick ass, it's definitely not for combat, but it's got that sweeping feeling that seems right (to me) to start off a session.

For the Wood-Wife's Plight (best if your player's can't understand the lyrics):

Stand up, stand up, look back
Hear the silverstrings, how they sound
See a huldra, which you burn
Who from the desire of you weep
Many, I know, are sneaking on you
Let me be your girl!
No one like you
Be patient and wait
Most beautiful out of all the boys in the valley
Put your lofty hand in mine
I want to play
I want to entertain all of your time
I want to make for my Eilland
Sour cream, butter and mushroom
We will live by Sonsteinheilla
Be therefore not scared
My living room is the mountains
With gold and silver and beautiful clothing
Stand up, stand up, look back
Hear the silverstrings, how they sound
See a huldra, which you burn
Which from the desire of you weep
Many, I know, are sneaking on you
Let me be your girl!
No one like you
Be patient and wait

I'm currently starting the 2nd module of Reign of Winter. I spent today creating two Spotify lists for my sessions. (while this post is older, it's the first that comes up for Reign of Winter Soundtrack so I figured I'd add to the community)
The first is just general ambiance. Music that's not obnoxious and can play in the background that fits the mood of the campaign. It's enough so the players don't hear the same tracks over and over again.
Reign of Winter Background Playlist
The second is combat themed (or possibly suspenseful moments)
Reign of Winter Combat Playlist
Enjoy. (Let me know if anything you'd like to add)
