Character Idea: Deathstroke

Can someone help me build Deathstroke from DC universe.

What point buy and books are you looking for?

Hm. Two rough ideas, either a Fighter that specializes in swords (Bastard Sword?) and firearms, or a Skirmisher Ranger (replaces Spells with Ranger Tricks) with either two-weapon combat (simply so you can whip out a Pistol and TWF if you want) or Two-handed weapon, with Favored Enemy: Human and Urban + Whatever Favored Terrains.

He'd have to have a fairly high point buy since he's dextrous, strong, can take a hit, is pretty wise, and has at least average intelligence, and is a good leader. I'd probably lean towards Ranger simply because Deathstroke NEEDS a large number of skills to be who he is, including Acrobatics, Survival (for tracking, another reason Ranger is a good choice), Intimidate, Climb, Swim, Stealth, and Heal (for those occasional torture sessions).

Yeah I think the Skirmisher Ranger is your best bet.

The Catfall (ignore 20 feet of fall damage), Deft Stand (stand up as a move action without provoking), Distracting Attack (free action rider on an attack roll that gives an opponent a -2 to attack for a round), Rattling Strike (free action rider on an attack roll that makes the target shaken for 1d4 rounds), Second Chance Strike (immediate action re-roll of a missed attack at a -5 penalty), Surprise Shift (move 5 feet as a Swift Action), and Uncanny Senses (immediate action +10 Perception) are all useful, and flavorful Ranger Tricks for the guy.

You wouldn't be able to get all of them before 17 so you need to prioritize some (I'd probably try and get Second Chance Strike, Surprise Shift, and Uncanny Senses as a priority) but you can manage them all plus one more if the game hits 19.

You can make him starting at whatever level you feel is appropriate, if you do decide to make it. Thanks.

We did a Comic Character campaign a year or so ago. I did Deathstroke as a Monk/Assassin. Honestly I was a fan of the Assassin for anything other than flavor. We couldn't use or didn't have guns yet so I was using a Temple Sword and shurikans. And as for stats we did some crazy good rolls (4d6 reroll 1's(and maybe 2's) and drop the lowest).

We also had a Wolverine, Dr. Strange, and Azreal Batman...

So much fun!

What gear do you think he would have?

A nicely enchanted (at least Keen) sword of choice, some good armor (perhaps studded leather in looks, but more like mithral shirt in armor), and some Alchemy supplies (smoke pellets and such) sound like a good start. He likely has a pair of boots of Elvenkind or Striding and Springing (or both, using custom "mix two together" item rules) as well.

I was thinking about the boots of springheel jack, but that seems like a bit much.

Those items I mentioned, when combined, are pretty much the Boots of Springheel Jack, if you're talking about the ones from TES: Oblivion.

I'm thinking more sohei monk/ninja.

No, I thought they were an item on Springheel Jack. It's in the Carrion Crown beastiary

Springheel Jack as an enemy is in the CC bestiary, but he has no associated item. He just has a special ability that lets him jump 20 feet straight up as if using Levitate.

Just as a death stroke reminder, he is actually pretty smart. His tactical and combat smarts rival those of batman, who is a master tactician in his own right. Refer to identify crisis arcs to see the Deathstroke fight vs. the Justice League. Also, he has nearly 90% mental control, referring to the 10% brain function myth, which allows him to use and create those tactics so effortlessly. Even to the degree of using enemy tactics back on them.

Dex, int/wis ( however you want to cover that ability) will be big attributes for him besides strength and con.

I think a monk, or a monk/ranger might be a good mix for him. Using either a sword, two weapons, or fists, Slade Wilson is a master with them all. If allowed, and you can get Guided property on an Amulet of mighty fists, or our weapon, you can now make our attacks all off of wisdom, if they used str. This would apply to both str and damage. This would reflect best his ability to quickly act and use what he sees and remembers to use as an 'experience' for his attacks. All wisdom is gained experience and knowledge.

i think monk is important because the serum that enhanced him, also retarded his aging to next to nothing. just saying

But a Monk doesn't fight as good as he's supposed to. Just give him a custom race with a long lifespan and you're good on that front.
