Arista sends her condolences...with an evil grin. She bounces around the apartment now when she has to interact with Alethiro. I told her this isn't college and I'm not doing her work for her.
'She bounces around the apartment' Is that a good or bad thing? I can't tell.
It's a good thing. It means she really likes this game.
Well then, happy to facilitate.
Just to be clear, I most certainly do not "bounce". LOL I might occasionally flit about like a little faery, but I don't bounce. And yes, I really AM enjoying this game. It is the most fun I have had with a role playing game, period.
It's really important to me right now especially. I had to get my FMLA paperwork from my Dr today. Looking over it I realized that he had put me off work until April 1st, and that's conditional based upon my body's response to current treatment. It totally sucks and I was really upset today....until I came on here. All our friends, which is what all ya'll are to us, on here have been so great. And the stories on here have been phenomenal. No matter how bad I'm feeling...I get on here and start reading and it makes me laugh. This game brings me great joy in a time where...aside from henry and our friends here...we have little to be joyous about. So, even though ya'll may not realize it, this game has been VERY therapeutic to us.
Sorry, I tend to gush a bit when I've had a really emotional day. I just really enjoy playing on here with all of you. That's all I'm really trying to say.

If ya'll could have seen the kind of people we were playing with before, you would totally understand. LOL
Up until now most of my experiences have revolved around players who only care about themselves, are as much back stabbers in real life as they are in game, only care about slicing stuff up or how bad ass their magic is. I LOVE all the interpersonal relationships and character development. I think it's one of the best parts.
Narrative is king!
I'm just going to give a small example from one of our latest debacles. It was a few months ago, and Henry was trying to run a pathfinder game for us and a couple of our friends, and I lose that term loosely since they usually only come around when it's convenient for them. Anyways, I was a barbarian, James was like a half elf ranger, and Mark (Oh lord, there aint enough time to explain what Mark is...) he was playing a human wizard. So, here's how it went down. Story was, there were human slavers sacking elven citys and taking whatever and whomever they wanted. Killing randomly and keeping the rest as slaves.
My father was supposed to be like the head of the clan families and he was going to send me, along with the wannabe wizard to investigate. We picked up the ranger along the way. The wizard, played by our totally socially inept friend Mark, was horrific to my character. He was one of the sons of one of the many clansmen and a total pain in the ass. Although not a true barbarian, his family had been part of our clan for a long time.
Anyways, once we meet up with the ranger, the wizard is constantly going on about, "those stupid barbarians, blah blah blah" right in front of my character, I might add.
We were supposed to be ambassadors of some sort, but when we finally reached one of the burnt out villages, instead of letting me talk with their towns council, dumbass...let me see if I can find in my notebook what his exact words were, "Well, why didn't your elders just protect you with magic? You're elves, where's your magic?"
That is the kind of complete ignorant nonsense we have had to endure.
So, now you can understand just how much we appreciate this game.

For our table top games I would keep records of everything we did in notebooks. Thats how I was able to give that little synopsis.
I was just thinking how soap opera-y that dialog was. And I realize that I may have just lit a powder keg here. *holds breath in anticipation*

So....Skaar, is Gregario saying or doing anything else? Just wondering who all was about. Wasn't sure how far from the cave we were when all that went down, so I have NO idea how many people might have caught that. I think most are caught up with whats going on with themselves, *swipes hand across brow* whew. This is just too much fun.

We know, I still gotta somehow have Arista see her family before they leave back to the fort. I wanted to confer with everyone else of course, but Arista was thinking they should head back to the fort first thing in the morning.
@ Arista: Not at all, I'm stuck here at work for another 3 hours and 6 minutes. If anything, you're helping me pass the time faster.
That's good....sometimes I just feel as if I'm monopolizing peoples' time, and I don't want to do that. Or have people get tired of hearing me go on and on and on about stuff.
Well, feel free to talk amongst yourselves. I gotta go season up a roast for later. Once seasoned I'll wrap it layers of plastic wrap and beat it right and proper so it's a tasty bit of meat once it's all cooked up with it's vegetable friends.
Now I'm just being silly. Hehe
I'm glad I can be of assistance. Roast is now seasoned and properly beaten for tenderness. Tomorrow, once we get done with everything we gotta do I can finish prepping it for the stew pot with carrots, red potatoes, and onions. Ah yeah....meat
I guess I'm still all worked up from earlier today. I know that we need to sleep, that we have to get together with his mom tomorrow, but I can't settle my mind for sleep. I'm worried about dealing with my boss tomorrow and the paperwork. There's just a bunch of junk going through my head all at once. But tonight was totally great and really helped alot.
I think that's pretty much on everyone else's mind as well. All s he wants is to say her goodbyes and get back there. There really are things that she remembered that need to be said, but she doesn't want to have to explain it a million times, so she wants to get back asap so she can explain it all at once with Godrick there as well as everyone else. I'm pretty much ready to get this party started. lol
Anyways, I think I need to get off here. I'm feeling a little lightheaded and dizzy. I haven't been sleeping well lately, what with all the coughing and everything. I sleep for an hour or two and wake up all choking and stuff. I really need to try and get some sleep seeing as how we have all this stuff we have to do tomorrow. Thanks for helping me get away from myself for a little while. Hope everyone has a good night and we should be around sometime tomorrow. Just don't know exactly when for sure.

Was busy earlier then back on. Definitely interesting. Nice twist there with Umina, I actually muttered "Damn it!" in that moment. WWSD is going to be quite the theme for those of us trying to be good isn't it?
Well, sleep was practically a bust. Just...too much stuff going on. Henry's friend matt was texting him unitl, oh I don't know....sometime after 5? Not that I mind, he is going through an awful ordeal and if there is anything Henry can do to alleviate some of that, I don't begrudge him that. Apparently, Matt had been talking to his mom about what they were planning to do today as far as weaning her off the vent and so on. He was trying to ascertain if she fully realized what all that meant, so he was explaining that they would be coming in and taking her off the vent and so on. He told Henry that when he told her that part that she said "No", plainly and emphatically. Even though on a vent, she is still aware of what's going on and is able to communicate. So, now we are not sure exactly what is going to happen. *sigh* It's pretty much just been a total roller coaster.
Between all that and trying to get comfortable in a position I'm not used to sleeping in since I practically have to sit straight up in bed to do that or choke....eh you can see where this is going. I might have got a few hours, whatevs. So, I'm just pretty much like blah today. I hope everyone else is having a good week and we'll be around later. I gotta go get stuff done and prepare myself to go deal with my boss.

Okay, I swear at some point I will get some sleep that lasts for more than a couple hours. I guess there is sometimes an upside to being used to having chronic insomnia. My body don't need no rest.
Henry just let me know that his friend Matt just texted him to let him know that his mom has just passed away. I just wanted to let everyone know in case he wasn't able to bring himself to get on here tomorrow. I say that, but then again you never know. You have all been such good friends and I know how much it means to him to have people that he can really connect with, that understand him and know what he's going through. This game has been so therapeutic for the both of us and I know how much he enjoys it.

Okay, so for those of you who might be interested. I finally got around to fixing Arista's Appearance description in her profile. I felt that I could at this point, do better than tall, metal looking skin, and silver hair. I've gotten a little better at being more descriptive with my words, so I wanted to give people a better idea of what they are actually seeing when they look at her. I did include a little on the more personality side of how she appears to be. I don't know...can't really explain it, it's just something that people have to see for themselves.
Anyways, as I said, it's there if anyone wishes to see it.
