Process if an item or character element is made PFS illegal?

In my specific case today's ruling that the Bracers of Falcon's Aim are illegal in PFS play. My zen archer has a pair of those.

What do I do?

My assumption would be I get back the gp I spent and can buy an alternative item? How should I document that on a chronicle sheet?

And what would you do if instead of an item of equipment an archetype or feat or trait were ruled illegal? Do you get to rebuild in some manner?

There have been other posts that have dealt with that, most recently to my memory was when Synthesist Summoner and Vivisectionist Alchemist were banned. With the Bracers, yes, you get all of the GP back, just note it on your next chronicle, and if you GM questions why you are getting full gold back, point him to the Additional Resources document as well as the Guide to Organized Play to show him the applicable rulings.

Well more often than not I'm the DM for my PFS groups so not worried about that mostly wanted to confirm the process so I did it correctly and instructed players to do it correctly as well.

You get a full refund if an item you possess is banned.

Can I get a source for the referenced ruling?

Which one? Bracers becoming illegal or refund costs?

bracers illegal

Just put on your next chronicle something like "Refund for Bracers of falcon's Aim" and have it initialed by the GM.

See page 28 of the current (4.3) Guide to organized play for full details on what can be rebuilt.

Mike Brock first confirmed it here in this post.

And it has now been updated in the Ultimate Equipment section of Additional Resources.

Noooooo! I just bought them on Wednesday night. Never even got to use them once. I figured that would happen at some point though (although a part of me hoped that they would get grandfathered in).

You get a full refund. When the price is errata'ed and it is made legal again, you can buy it at the corrected price.

Personally, I'd take that 4,000 GP and buy a set of Mithral Cookware.
