It takes these jokers at least a round to reload. So, yeah, I think we advance 30' as a move action and then each take a useful action. I'll ready Burning Hands in case we can convince the trow to jump at us. Klo and Kath could do some healing on Skane, etc. Next round should be a reload round for the baddies. So we can advance on the trow again and git to the killin!

stop and heal. If we're walking into a meat grinder, we can do it on our own bloody time and when we're as close to full fighting capacity as possible.

Yep, I totally agree. We are going up against a walled fortress, a troll, and a bunch of yahoos with distance nastiness. Going in full strength is the only thing that makes sense.

If anyone has a distance attack they want to use to attempt (futilely in all likelihood) to provoke the troll to come out and meet us, that might not be a bad addition. Otherwise, let's heal Skane up and then do it.

If that last troll fight is any indicator, we need fire to shut down the ice troll's healing ability. So I'd prefer to beat the stuffing out of it, and then use the fire once we've downed it to see if we can kill her for good.

Opening with is is a good way to piss her off, but unless we can also kill her in that one round (which I find unlikely), it might be wasted.

My gut says wait until we knock her into negatives (hopefully she'll collapse or something), and then Anna uses that while others CDG or hit her as necessary.

EDIT: on the other hand, it may be just what we need to piss her off and into action ... i'm good either way. :D

Personally, I think the odds are worse for us beating the troll while getting torn up by her and assaulted by the jokers on the wall. If we can draw her into attacking us, she might provide soft-cover from the crossbows on the wall and give them a distance penalty on those pots. I think that is worth the risk of Annalisa's first attack not helping to polish the beast off. But that is just my 2 cents.

The Alchemists fire would be a splash weapon, yes? And it's a 10 foot range that she has to throw, right? Do these need to be set on fire before throwing or are the designed to be combustible on contact?

With a range of only 10ft, we'll already be nearly on the Trow before I can use the alchemists fire. So, it really won't work to draw her out.

News I have and it is both excellent and foul.

On the positive side, after working pretty much nine months without taking any leave... I get to take some! I'll be off to Australia (Perth -> Adelaide -> Sydney) with the family for visitations of elders and newly borns and what not. Much fun will be had and I'll be away from home from roughly 24th March through to 10th-ish April.

The bad of it is that during that time I shall be thoroughly unable to run any PbPs, so the games will need to go on temporary hiatus; and be kicked back into gear upon my return to Malaysia.

I know that I've been lagging over the last while(in the vernacular of the talented Tim Minchin 'like a blind man clapping in a pharmacy trying to echo-locate the contact lens fluid'), and a fair amount of that has to do with work related burnout. My trip downunder will refill the Farmer's Union reservoir, satiate my desire for bacon and egg muffins and the clean air should banish the last of the haze coating my lungs.

Game will continue through till the weekend, then pause until I get back before flaring back into incandescent life once more. So bear with me, and we'll keep on trucking in the long haul.

With a heavy heart I have to concede that Caerb is likely not coming back, so the Slaugh Sidhe are now down to an even five combatants. I don't want to DMPC Caerb, so I'm suggesting that I write him slightly out of the story IC before you approach where you're planning to approach.

As the numbers - I'm as happy with five as I would be to re-up back to six... and Hilde has suggested that a friend would be interested in pitching a character. As long as the other Sidhe are amenable to that - then I'd be happy to see the proposed character posted up in OOC thread.

Sorry for the delay in posting. It was Easter and then I was sick - sleeping 24 hours straight through to this morning.

I'm up and around now but will probably miss a day or two coming up. I take my test on the 1st but will still post. I will also be in Savannah for a day on the 7th but will also still post. Then on the 9th I move to Staten Island and will almost certainly miss a day or so. Please GM PC any time you like during those days instead of waiting for me.

Orientation is on the 16th in New York, so I have to be in Staten Island by then.

As an ex-Rifts / WoW / Lotro player I'm enjoying the levelling process. It's managed to feel more like an actual RPG and less like an MMO - but I'm still only level 8/50 - so no idea what endgame will be like.

If the troll doesn't fall for it, Hilde's going to turn into a forlarren and go ape-s**t rather than trying diplomacy at all. That will probably convince them that we are on their side, but may not stop them from trying to kill her anyway.

I don't see her getting away with anything close to resembling diplomacy or disguise with these things, aside from the magic.

Still, let's see how far your luck can run, eh?
