Well my current favorite story, is a slightly evil one. It also was my first kill of a PC (I have killed several pregens, but who is counting!), which was shortly followed by my second, which was an almost max damage shocking grasp on a player in one round then a second almost max damage the next (how many times have you seen 5 "5 and 6's" rolled, two rounds in a row?.
The first was a wraith that critted, so 2d6 Con drain coming. I couldn't bear to do it so I asked the player, would he care to roll the damage? He said sure and promptly rolled a 12.
It was horrible. A ha ha horrible but horrible none the less. Then of course the rest of the party had to kill the thing and run before the other player raised :)
The biggest thing that I have learned to do is keep the game moving. My game for my first star was Crypt of Fools, which if any of you have run is LONG. When I had PLAYED it it took almost 6 hours! So we had some players that often get distracted playing the other night so I was worried about time, but we managed to do all the encounters in a reasonable amount of time and all had fun.
The other thing I have learned is that when you have low prep time, the internet is your friend. When I know that I cannot print out everything I need, I will just make bookmarks on the PRD of all the monsters from the bestiary, etc instead of lugging the books I can quickly bounce to them.
Anyhow nothing that exciting but it has been a lot of fun.
