Hmm, I hadn't thoughts as much about the associated schools of magic (confession: I've never played Runelords so this isn't my area of Golarion strength; most of what I'm getting comes from the skymetals section in Shattered Star 1, which I only got so I could get the description of horacalcum for when I was writing my Time's Tide Pendant).
Not sure if this will help anyone else, but here're the traditional groupings:
- conjuration magic, zeal, and sloth
- transmutation magic, generosity, and greed
- enchantment magic, love, and lust
- illusion magic, humility, and pride
- necromancy magic, temperance, and gluttony
- abjuration magic, charity, and envy
- evocation magic, wrath, and kindness
Looking at the characters we have so far who've expressed an interest in a specific virtue (apologies if I've missed any):
Zeal/Sloth: Sir Kaldiel (paladin), Gregor (wizard/conjurer)
Wrath: Monkeygod (magus/inquisitor)
Love/Lust: Anglon (cleric)
Charity: Denat Leround
Looking at Carawyn, summoner would definitely seem to be conjuration magic, which would be zeal/sloth. If I did switch to the blood god version, though, it really de-emphasizes the conjuration (since it gets rid of the summon monsters ability), and the feel would I think really work well with necromancy/temperance/gluttony. I could even try to reskin the archetype if you want to make it focus even more on necromancy (thinking about it, why the heck ISN'T there a necromantic summoner), though obviously that wouldn't be an official source, so I'm find if you don't want to do that.
Her back story (and name, for that matter), would change. I'm thinking -- and this is just train of thought -- she'd probably have grown up in Belkzen, the daughter of an orc warlord and his human slave, before being taken back to Cheliax and she and her mother were rescued. She was pulled between their two extremes. He tried to teach her the orc way, including weapons training in whatever pole arm I end up with. After her mother was rescued and taken back to Varisia, her mother tried to teach her to be civilized, leaving her a bundle of contradictions.
That leaves humility/pride unclaimed as well as generosity/greed currently unrepresented.

Mottedittor, thanks for breaking things down. Having followed this idea since Harakani started it in his previous thread I've been rather interested in pursuing it further & being certain we had a 'full set' as it were.
On that subject, surprisingly we seem to be lacking in the Humiliy/Pride/Illusion quarter, which segues nicely with one of the ideas I have had percolating.
Irnk, Dead-Eye's Prodigal
Does anyone have a Physical Advanced Race Guide? I checked the PRD & was unable to find the race points value for Changelings. Probably not going to go with one, but was curious, mechanically.
To add to Harakani's comments, technically, while a Haramaki has no negative modifiers, it is still light armor & you would have the associated negative modifiers for wearing it without being proficient in it's use, likewise with the Armored Kilt. In fact, you very likely could have the negative modifiers for both if you were wearing both. Personally, I would just cast Mage Armor.
Irnk, Dead-Eye's Prodigal
Harakani, here is my entry. I don't have everything finished up, but the key background info & most of the mechanical stuff is done.
The Master in Grey
What is your 3rd level familiar? Not sure Undead Master is very useful. Harmaki+kilt is a culturally strange combination. What are you going to use Marionette Possession for?
I think I'm going to go with a Psychopomp as my familiar.
Undead Mastery is very useful to my build. I'll be able to control extra undead with it, which is the core of the concept.
The Haramaki+Kilt is 1/2 of my standard "Caster Armor". I think for this character I'll go with Silken Ceremonial Armor instead, because it's a full-body covering. That plus a Mithril Buckler is a +3 AC bonus with no arcane spell failure chance. I figure any wizard who's prone to going into dangerous situations would have long since figured out the best possible protection they can wear without hindering their casting. It's not really a cultural choice. It's academic.
Marionette Possession will let me take over the bodies of my undead minions, or the creatures we run into. It's one of my favorite Necromancy spells.
Namtarou
I nearly forgot :
"What schools would work for this character?"
Any school could work. I have a fondness for conjuration but I could play something else if that could help.
About the virtues, after thinking a bit more about it I think I could tie Denat to any virtue/vice, I'd juste have to tweak his personnality a bit.| Harakani |
I think the race points value for Changelins is 7.
Anyway, I just had another idea : not my first choice but if the DM prefers, I could submit an alchemist tied to generosity and greed (main problem is that he won't be able to take Craft wondrous item before 7th level)
7 for Changelings looks right to me.
Alchemists were clarified as being able to take Craft feats using Alc level as CL. I go with that. Not sure you'll have the spells to make the best use, but it is possible.
Harakani
A Folding Boat costs 7,200 gp & a Hat of Disguise coasts 1,800. I know the Hat is less than half the starting funds, but the Boat is more than half the starting funds, would it still be alright if I purchased those for Arioch?
I see Arioch is a sailor? Without Craft:Boat and Fabricate, he can't build the ship, right? (DC would go too high, though I suppose you could get a fabricate scroll). That means paying full cost...
I was trying to start people with issues with nature. Why is a boat so important to him?
Harakani
Master in Grey:
There are a few tiny problems with the numbers (eg CMD says +3 str) but nothing important.
I like necromancers, but it is difficult to do one that does not become a monster. Forgive me if I am careful.
I note your background says that he is now against striving and suffering. Lissala is a goddess of reward for hard work, and striving seems like something she'd like. Pointless striving, and suffering I can see as problems.
There is a risk with this philosophy that he might decide everyone is "better off undead". This is probably going to cause a schism unless he also requires that those becoming undead choose to do so of their own free will.
A communist necromancer is a fascinating idea. I like "the dead should serve the living". The idea of someone attempting to create a utopia through repugnant but logical methods seems to make sense.
What personality does he have for normal people (ie not the PCs)?
Marionette possession does not work on mindless undead (clarified by Paizo - Mind Jar states mindless undead do not have souls). In my opinion this got rid of a lot of the reason to have Marionette Possession. While I suppose you could command a sentient undead then marionette possession it, you are probably going to be waiting for spells like Shadow Form, Mind Jar and Possess Object to render you safer.
I take your point about undead mastery. It will increase the volume of undead you will be able to control. The use of undead will give you (and your kingdom) a bad reputation. On the other hand it can be a very powerful tool used carefully. I see the game starting with no, or one undead. Opportunity to gather more should happen quickly. I am also worried you've taken a feat to increase a spell you won't get for another 2 levels.
I love the Nosoi - not sure if you checked my aliases - and it is incredibly cool! That said, you can't get one as a familiar until 7th level (a fact I have railed against).
Even when you do get one, I am a little worried by
Like all psychopomps, nosois loathe the undead. They immediately leave the service of any master who creates or permanently becomes such an abomination.
Armour wise I don't like the mix'n'match of armour like that. I take your point about a wizard studying how best to safeguard themselves, but don't want every wizard wearing the same weird combo. How's this for a compromise...
Take craft:armour at a decent level. You've already got some engineering and geography. Take Silken Cermonial Armour and Armoured Kilt. The Grey Acolyte - fragile as he was - realised that it made sense to wear armour. Ideally something concealed and definitely something that didn't affect spellcasting. He approached the problem as an academic one, studied the problem, took an Academic Robe, crafted it out of silk, then alchemically thickened the silk. Additional (metal) protection was then added around the waist and legs where it would not interfere with somatic gestures. Thus was created an armoured robe that looked like a normal academic garment.
As the inventor you can name the resultant armour, and it is a recent enough invention that it is not widely known amongst wizarding circles, and may in fact be a secret if you choose. On the other hand if you can convince the other PCs to wear one, this can eventually become a signature of your group.

Use linen instead of silk and Denat would love the idea.

I was trying to start people with issues with nature. Why is a boat so important to him?
He's not so much a Sailor as he could see where Master Stonebound was likely to go with his ideas & knew that very few wilderness areas don't have large bodies of water that need crossing & decided to have the greatest general, practical, utility to his master's vision.
Spells by themselves can, for the most part, counter the need for wilderness survival. They aren't as good for moving larger numbers of explorers/minions across water. At least not until you get to the level that even Master Stonebound only had so many & would likely focus those on other pursuits if the opportunity arose. The folding boat has the greatest utility for transporting larger numbers of people across or through bodies of water without requiring docking or portage.
At least those were Arioch's thoughts.
Also if it's not already obvious, which it may not be given how he acts, Arioch's focal Virtue is Humility & the School classically associated with it: Illusion.

Aha! That might be a problem. Reader Stonebound seemed to have the goal of Becoming the Richest Dwarf in The World. This whole "found a kingdom" thing is coming out of left field. He was slowly building up influence as he sponsored his graduating proteges into various arcana academies, and his money and investments had made him an economic powerhouse... but suddenly he decided to head off into green fields instead.

I'd like to submit a time oracle. The class is specifically suited for zeal and sloth, and either conjuration or transmutation magic are great areas to focus.
This character would be called by Lissala (or a vestige of her) and task him to bring back the true history of her religion, rather than a darkened, revised version. The new city will be the model of the greatness of Thassilon until such time as Lissala is once again a pre-eminant deity, calling entire nations into her worship.
This person would likely be LN at first. I can act as a buffer between other alignments. He'd have access to the longspear, Craft Wondrous, and place a premium on Knowledge (history).
Mechanically he'd buff and control. At higher levels, he'd restore youth or curse with age. He'd even erase rivals from time and history if they were unworthy of Lissala's vision.
I'll flesh out a concept and some other mechanical ideas if I'm a candidate.

Hmm. No doubt, Superstar and preparation for my trip to India come first, but I can put together a character pretty quickly and post daily. Perks of being your own boss.
Hmm...martial or exotic. If a longspear won't do it, I'll choose a good weapon.
New question about races and RP. We get a 20 pt buy as humans, but only a 25 pt buy, minus the RP we spend for a different race. But humans are 9 or 11 RP by themselves. Is the plan just to encourage people to play straight humans? Ideally the same RP and power level of a human would only net you a 15 point buy.
I'm all for team human, just want to make sure I got my shizzle straight.
Monkeygod
I'm torn between concepts. Magus and Inquisitor are two of my favorite classes right now. The Ranger, as far as it goes, is a more wilderness focused Inquisitor, which plays well to the setting, while a Witch could easily be wrathful based on spell selection and Patron plus can assist with kingdom building as well.
Gah, tough choices all. I really, really want to be in this game, I think this is a fantacular premise, but its a hard decision

Didn't see this until tonight (somehow my view of the recruitment messageboards got "focused" and wasn't showing threads posted in the last week), and would like to put together a rogue/sorcerer arcane trickster build, but there is a small problem. Arcane trickster requirements are any non lawful, while yours is only lawful. Any chance for some DM blessing?
Harakani
some have spell schools associated and some don't. Is that just something you're doing? Do we need to speak up for one? If so, I claim transmutation. For Spain.
Legend (flippantly):
E = Equally okay, as stated by player.O = Omigosh I must have this.
X = eXactly what I don't want.
<blank> = no stated preference.
If you want Transmutation or would rather make a new character, put an O (and X in the other). If you want Transmutation or Necromancy put an E in those and an X in the others. if you want transmutation, but you'd accept another, put O in trans and E in the others.

I'll ignore alignment requirements for the right personality & backstory.
Alright closing in fifteen and a half hours. While those who've expressed interest can keep going, no new people after that.
Multiple concepts are fine, but make sure I know you are the same player so we don't end up with you winning two slots!
The Master in Grey
Communist Necromancer is pretty much exactly what I had in mind.
He would never decide everyone is better off undead because to him, the undead are the working class who make it possible for the living to have an enjoyable and liesurely life. He thinks the constant toil for wealth just to survive robs life of it's joy. He's given up having it for himself, but wants it badly for others.
Mindless undead are the workforce precisely because they are mindless. He isn't a fan of intelligent undead unless they are that way by choice, and have dedicated their existence to the benefit of the living.
Basically, he's a martyr figure.
Hope that explains things better.

The interest. I have it. Probably get a submission up in the next few hours.
Oh, and I should mention that I have some experience with the Kingmaker path. Played through the first two chapters already. If that's a problem, I can bow out gracefully (more or less). EDIT: Ah, I see that you answered this already. Sweet.
