Improved Trip

Rules Questions

What do you all add up when you use the attack trip with a weapon?

Do you use just your CMB+D20?

CMB+weapon enhancements + weapon bonuses to hit + D20?

What and which?

When you trip with a weapon, you use your CMB, plus any bonuses to attacks you might have (like Inspire Courage or bless) plus any bonuses for the weapon you're using (enhancement bonus, Weapon Focus, etc) plus any bonuses for the maneuver you're performing (Improved Trip, etc) plus any circumstantial bonuses (flanking, high ground, charging, etc).

It is the latter. It's CMB+d20+ whatever other bonuses apply directly to the weapon (and are not already counted in CMB).

So for example if a fighter (6) has a +1 flail. He has weapon focus, and weapon training on the flail. He trips a target with it (with improved trip).

His roll is d20+ CMB +2 (improved trip)+1 (weapon focus)+1 (weapon training)+1 (+1 flail). So d20+CMB +5.

How does this change if the weapon is not a trip weapon? You can not trip with a weapon that does not have the trip feature right?

So without a trip weapon (long sword), the PC would only add their CMB, feat bonuses, and spell affects (haste)?

That used to be the case but has been changed a while ago.
You can trip with any weapon, but a trip weapon allows you to let go of the weapon and drop it if you fail by 10 or more and not get tripped in return.

With trip you basically use your normal to hit + any bonus you have on trip (imp trip and so on) +d20.
So yes you get all spell (like haste) and weapon enhancements (such as bane if that applies to the target) and feats (weapon focus)

Trip weapons mean you buy a weapon cord - drop your weapon if you faail on 10 or more get it back as a swift action...
