So I am PFO backer (did the $100 donation), but completely brand-spanking new to Pathfinder, Paizo, and of course PFO.
Questions...
1.) What is the GoblinSquad group and is that the Goblin icon over users' avatars here on the messages boards? How do I get one? And I can't seem to find any code to link my account here with the Kickstarter pledge I made. And is this tied to the backer survey supposedly coming soon?
2.) Is there any plan to move or switch to a 'purdy' forum and PFO site any time soon? Such as a nice base for the PFO community that doesn't have to visit this slow Paizo board all the time? :-)
3.) I do know that Pathfinder was created out of a modified version of the open game license from 3rd edition D&D, since there was some criticism about it. But aside from rules and mechanics, is there a good place to start out with reading up on the lore that exists so far in Pathfinder? I've seen mention of alliances/factions, the different races, and the different Pathfinder RPG products. But as an absolute noob to Pathfinder, does anyone have any good recommendations on reads/books/pdfs for an intro to Pathfinder?
My gaming community, which is multiple guilds (teams) in multiple games, has members who are interested in PFO and backed it. Several of us did the $500 guild backer, others like me when with individual donation packages. I'm one of three pushing the charge for PFO within my gaming community, so please, I'd love your help to visit the link, read what I have, and point out any inaccuracies about PFO I posted. That will help better represent PFO to my community.

1) Once they finish processing all the kickstarter stuff (probably in the range of a month to a month and a half from kickstarter close) they'll start putting out stuff like how to link your account to your pledge, and the survey and whatnot. And yes, the goblin is from the goblin squad.
2) Yes, eventually. Not sure when.
3) There are several pathfinder wikis, or the campaign setting book or the Inner Sea World Guide are all good sources.

1. You'll get your Goblin Squad icon and title when your Paizo account here gets tied to your Kickstart during the Survey that will probably go out within the next couple of weeks, maybe sooner.
2. There are plans to add sub-forums, but I don't think they're actively planning on entirely separate forums yet. And yes, this site is slow, and it's annoying sometimes.

Everyone who backed the Kickstarter at $35 or more will get the Goblin Squad icon once we import the data from Kickstarter.
The Goblin Squad will get early access to information about Pathfinder Online and will be able to shop in the Goblin Squad Store on paizo.com, where you'll be able to buy Pathfinder Online stuff. The contents of the store are TBD.

We already have your email from the Backer Report from Kickstarter. As soon as the Fulfillment system is ready we'll be contacting all the backers.

It's not high on our list of priorities at the moment.

You'll get a wealth of information from the RPG Superpack that you'll receive from your Kickstarter Pledge - in the Pathfinder Core rulebook and in the Guide to the River Kingdoms. There are links on the left side of these threads to all sorts of resources hosted here on the Paizo website as well!
