Confused by wording on inquisitor

Rules Questions

So im making a ranged inquisitor.
It says that "to learn or cast a spell an inquisitor must have a Wisdome score equal to 10+ the spell level"
I am utterly confused.

That means you must have a wisdom of 11 or higher to be able to cast 1st lv spells, 12 or higher to cast 2nd lv spells, 13 or higher to cast 3rd lv spells, etc.

Ok, so to get to lvl 6 spells(the highest an Inquisitor can cast) i need atleast 16.
Thanks, Im doing this to try to decide whre to put my extra 2 points from my race, thanks.

Don't all spell casting classes have the same (or very similar) wording?

Yeah, Im still new at this, I never Made a Spell caster before.

Ah, good luck with your Inquisitor... my wife rarely plays spellcasters, but she really likes her Inquisitor character.

High and Welcome to the Game!

Any other questions you have?

yes, what IS your avatar looking at??

No, None right now.
Other than Why is the core rulebook bigger then all my college text books?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

because it's the players handbook and dungeon masters guide rolled into one, and , it's more IMPORTANT than your college studies....simple.

It is... But I will save it for a future Funny Table Stories Thread I am thinking of starting.

thats funny, It does have a "did you SERIOUSLY just say that" appearance to it... as much as a helmet can have an expression I suppose.

Its more of a "Balls! What a bloody idjit..." moment.

In the immortal words of journey quest "ONWARD!"

"Push onward to victory, we must."

Grand Lodge

"There is no man, woman, child, or beast, living or dead, safe from the perversions of Slaanesh."

"I feel the Warp overtaking me. It is a good pain."

Sweet...

I actually do have another question.
I have been looking at Pre-gens to get some ideas for my character.
I noticed that some on the range weapons hav additional damage, like
Shortbow +1 (1d6+3)
How do you add damage like that too a ranged weapon, I know you add STR with composite and thrown.
but how do you get modifiers like that on ranged weapons that arent Composite or thrown weapons?

Best answer I have is feats or special abilities being included in the stat-block. Not a heck of a lot of other ways to get bonus damage on a non-magical bow.

Hmm,
Making a ranged chracter is difficult.
I think ill get it down.
