Are Oracle god associations required or suggested for PFS?

That is, if you are playing a PFS Oracle how does your choice of Mystery work?

- can you pick any mystery no matter your alignment or god (if any?)

- does your character's God dictate certain Mysteries? If so, what about Gods that don't have any mysteries associated with them? (does that mean they don't have any Oracles or does it mean you have to pick?)

I'm looking at building a Nagaji character with potentially some Oracle levels, he'll be LG and probably worship Apsu (He's being built to likely go Dragon Disciple) - hence the question, trying to determine which Mysteries are appropriate if I go the Oracle route with him...

(debating what classes beyond one of the Inevitable classes to take with him - like the idea of Paladin but also like the idea of splashing something else as well - Oracle or Natural Attacks Ranger are the current top candidates...)

Oracles aren't connected to individual deities at all. Heck, oracles don't even always know where their powers/curses come from. There's no mechanical interaction (that I'm aware of) between oracle class features and your choice of deity.

I can't find the link but this has been discussed before somewhere. The ruling as I remember it was that as an oracle your class skills are not tied to a specific god or alignment. If you decide to worship a specific god and use spells, feats, or traits tied to their worship you must be with one step of the god's alignment. Hope this helps.

Just a heads up though Oracles cast divine spells so they don't meet the requirement for Dragon Disciple and you wouldn't increase caster level.
